Only problem with it is that they announced the penalty instead of huddling up and getting it right first. Which they did.

    i don't believe its fixed.
they are using a ratings system to choose the officiating crews.
this makes units out of referees that have not been units all year.
so they don't have a history of working as a unit.
that is the problem in all the games this weekend..
NFL should rank the teams of officials not individual officials
then put together a unit for a playoff game.
that was the mistake being discussed.
Lions had plenty of chances to hold their lead and blew it
because they are just not damn good enough.

Let's not forget the no call when Dez ran onto the field without his helmet on disputing the flag for pass interference right after the play. It's clear as day and should have been a 15 yard penalty. I'm more shocked at that no call than i am of the picking up the flag.

Still for those that think the game is fixed then find something else to do with your money/time. That's just absurd.

sure looked like the refs did everything in their power to help Dallas. They probably all got an extra $150,000 under the table.

Funny thing is though that the refs fixed the game to help the public side win.... it just goes to show you that TV Ratings mean more than what the Sportsbooks want/ need.

Detroit also should have played better defense toward the end of the 1st half. Poor tackling led to Dallas getting that first half TD.

Its funny Lions were only up 10 points at half but they totally dominated that 1st half. It really felt like it should have been a 28 point lead the way Dallas was getting blasted.

Oh well We got the Pretty boy QB match up they wanted Rodgers vs Romo .

That play reminds me of the Monday Night football game that was rigged last year between the Patriots and the Panthers.

Patriots were driving down the field late with a a chance to score the game winning TD and Rob Gronkowski was wide open and about to catch the ball when was tackled in the endzone way before the ball got there by Luke Kuechly.

The Pass Interference Flag was initially thrown i believe and then later picked up.

Sports have been rigged since the 1920's the key is to know which side is supposed to win.

^im willing to bet some gladiatorial competitions were "fixed"...that might push that date back a few years....sports, especially at a "pro" level, should be considered entertainment...you are betting on entertainment...that's how I look at it anyway

the refs are so susceptible to mob influence since they make very little money and do this part time. easy to get them in debt to some bad people and they have to do as told or else

I bet dallas so again im happy with the flag pick up, but that was 100 percent a penalty, if you dont play the ball and make contact with the reciever you gonna get flagged ,, detroit wins this game or at least kicks a field goal if that flag was not picked up, refs played a huge role on the out come of the game

this. It gives Detroit 90-95% chance to get fg at least and go up 6, but more importantly have Dallas start drive deep in own territory, not midfield. And Dallas wouldn't have the "luxury" of knowing they only need a fg. If Detroit ends up getting a td after that flag, the game is over most likely.

If this was a regular season game, there's no way they pick up that flag... but given the ramifications of a Lions' scoring drive that late in a playoff elimination game, they felt they had to give "America's Team" an assist in that spot, and that's what they did.

Heard from Mike and Mike this morning, learned something new on why some argued that was a no-call. If the ball was thrown a little higher, instead of hitting on the defense player's back, this would be an easy PI call, because the receiver was interfered to make the catch over head. Because it was underthrow, the defender has right to the space as well, thus no call (only in NFL though).

Arnold Rothstein (January 17, 1882 – November 6, 1928),[2][3] nicknamed "the Brain", was a Jewish-American racketeer, businessman and gambler who became a kingpin of the Jewish mob in New York. Rothstein was widely reputed to have organized corruption in professional athletics, conspiring in the fixing of the 1919 World Series.
According to crime writer Leo Katcher, Rothstein "transformed organized crime from a thuggish activity by hoodlums into a big business, run like a corporation, with himself at the top."[4] According to Rich Cohen, Rothstein was the person who first realized that Prohibition was a business opportunity, a means to enormous wealth, who "understood the truths of early century capitalism (giving people what they want) and came to dominate them."[5] His notoriety inspired several fictional characters based on his life, portrayed in contemporary and later short stories, novels, musicals and films.
Rothstein failed to pay a large debt resulting from a fixed poker game and was murdered in 1928. His illegal empire was broken up and distributed among a number of other underworld organizations and led in part to the downfall of Tammany Hall and the rise of reformer Fiorello La Guardia. Ten years after his death, his brother declared Rothstein's estate was bankrupt.

Tim Donaghy (/ˈdɒnəɡi/;[2] born January 7, 1967)[3] is a former professional basketball referee who worked in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for 13 seasons, from 1994 to 2007.[4] During his career in the NBA, Donaghy officiated in 772 regular season games and 20 playoff games.[4] Donaghy resigned from the league on July 9, 2007[5] before reports of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for allegations that he bet on games that he officiated during his last two seasons and that he made calls affecting the point spread in those games.[6] On August 15, 2007, Donaghy pleaded guilty to two federal charges related to the investigation. However, he could face more charges at the state level if it is determined that he deliberately miscalled individual games. Donaghy was sentenced to 15 months in federal prison on July 29, 2008.[7] He served 11 months in a federal prison camp in Pensacola, Florida to spend the remainder of his sentence in a halfway house,[8][9] but was sent back to prison in August for violating his release terms. He was released on November 4, 2009 after serving out his sentence.

Officials will naturally favor the favorite/home team/larger franchise.

It is bullshit but it is a regular occurrence in every professional sport league in the world.

Ya the league is rigged for the Cowboys. That's why they haven't won a playoff game in 20 years before yesterday. Because the league is rigged to favor them.

Really? Did it look like that when they called running into the punter which gave the Lions the ball (and an eventual touchdown) instead of Dallas the ball on the Detroit 40? And did it look like that when they threw a flag on a Dallas touchdown?

Why is it that so many people ignore the close calls that went against Dallas?

And if it's rigged, why even throw the flag in the first place? Wait, let me guess.... only the back judge was in on the fix, but not the side judge, right?

I've heard it a couple times. It just usually doesn't garner anywhere near as much attention.

Seriously, brah, is that your smoking gun? The fact that there was a miscommunication among a crew of refs who never worked with each other before?

Here are the key things that some people are too stupid to figure out: If the game was rigged, they don't throw the flag in the first place. If the game was rigged, they don't make the announcement. All these strange little things support the notion that the game is legit, not rigged.

Only a moron would think a game was rigged but in such a colossally ****** up manner. Any game that was really rigged would never get to that point. A key penalty or 2 earlier in the game would easily eliminate any suspicion. It would be so easy to do early in the game without attracting any attention. Lions just scored a 50 yard touchdown? Whoops! Holding against the offense! Dallas just went 3 and out? Whoops! Illegal contact against the defense!

im not saying the game was fixed, I'm just saying that was the wrong call to pick the flag up, it was pass interference, Mike Pereira agreed it was

The ball hit the defender in the lower back.....he has his right to be there. Was the contact with the defenders left arm legal? No....but it did not influence the play. The ball was uncatchable, the defender was in a position that was legal.....I hopped up immediately and said the call was bs. I was shocked they took it back after such a lengthy delay, but they were right to pick up the flag.

You want reffing issues? Go watch the Arizona game again.....now that stunk.
