That's the way the ball bounces. You bog down in the red zone, turn the ball over to a team like Oregon you get blown out. A different day and the game could have been closer/

I think TCU should have made it over OSU.. and if the Buckeyes get smoked then you'll hear a lot of people complaining.. Sadly, I believe that if TCU had lost to someone else like Oklahoma then they would have made it. I just don't think the committee wanted to deal with the backlash of TCU making it over the team they lost to, especially in the first year and especially if TCU had lost by a lot

I 100% agree with Astro, I'm actually super pissed off TCU didn't get in but nothing to do about it now. I hope OSU gives Bama a good game just so I don't have to be upset about it all offseason too.

I would have been fine with that, actually would probably prefer that to a committee that might be biased.. It didn't work well when humans picked the 2 teams in the NC, then the computer (BCS) seemed to be a little better at picking them but still had issues. So then they go back to humans but allow more teams in. So maybe the next step will be keeping it at 4 teams but allowing a BCS style ranking to determine them.

OP means if the BCS was still in place, not the Final Four. Alabama and FSU are 1-2 using old BCS formula.

I am and will be butthurt over them being left out (TCU). I had an extremely juicy future bet on them and I live 15 minutes away so I watched them pretty much all year and faded them against Kansas State like a donkey. They were a legit threat to any team in the final four imho. They return 10 starters on offense I believe next year so we shall see.

24 teams make it in the FCS, they play at the better seed's place and play once a week. I believe 24 is too many, 8 would work, but no reason they need such a long layoff in between the season and the playoff starting.

This season the last games were on November 28th. Give them 2 weeks for the first round (Dec. 13), then proceed as it did this year from there. Could play the semis on Jan 1 and give them 19 days off, then play the finals 10 or 11 days after that.

Ouch.. I think they could have won it too. If I had made that bet and they did win I'd be kicking myself for not just upping it to $100 and walking away with 21k+

They would get hell from the bowls for doing it this way, that's why it seems unlikely it happens while it's good on paper. All the good teams actually played on the week of December 6 so you would probably need to wait until the week of the 20th, then go into the bowls after that. 24 would suck, the regular season would be almost meaningless.

If this had been last year we would have, most likely, seen a Alabama win over FSU and talk of how dominant the SEC is and all that good stuff.

Now with a playoff we get two teams that would have been left out. Hopefully this leads to an 8 team playoff in the next year or two.
