What's the fukkin point of that?Win some horse shit "prize" that's worth the price of a ticket. Now I gotta go back into the store and claim my break even prize. Seriously why have this as a prize? Just take the $5 tickets and cut the number of them in half and make them $10 prizes

i think the point of the breakeven prize is that most people see it as worthless just like you do, and they'll typically keep letting it ride on more scratch offs. brilliant ploy to sell more tickets

No joke i nearly sued those cheating lottery fuckks.
Bought a $10 ticket. Ticket had 10x symbol to win 10x the prize. Got a 10x symbol so I'm thinking I'm gonna win at least $100 since the minimum win is $10. But no, they put a fukking $1 winner under the 10x symbol. Such a fukking scam. You will never see a $1 prize under a losing number on a $10 ticket. They put it under the 10x to royally fukk you.
Read the back of the ticket, it gives you the odds of winning. its def -EV but i do agree winning 5 on a $5 ticket is stupid.

Its smart because itll keep you buying, its like a push, youll use that returned money to buy another ticket maybe even two. Now they have sone people thinking when they buy a ticket that sometimes theyll at least get their get their money back, just another way to create action.

Agree with Dane....I buy scratch offs like once or twice a week as I'm in the convenience store most days, usually buy a few 5 or 10 dollar ones...The pushes are annoying but I usually just stack up all the winners and eventually cash em all back in when I get to like $100 or whatever and just buy more

In Ohio they did get sued and had to change the laws....the # of winner of each roll of tickets is updated online or by request....all top prizes were won on a particular game....so the rest of the people buying the ticket were essentially being lied to...they had no chance at the top prize
