    Manziel needs to Play

This Hoyer guy is bad. The Browns defense produced and set up 17 of their points, probaly should be more if the Hoyer led offense to move the ball. Time for qb change

Don't rule out Dallas making a play for him in the off-season

Bad coaching not to pull Hoyer. Just cost them any chance at the playoffs

Hoyer was a dead man walking from jump st on draft day. Only thing that probably saved him was maybe Manziel was showing too much immaturity and not progressing enough ov the summer and from reports we were hearing that's probably accurate.

Going into season after being named starter Hoyer had 1 mission to have ANY chance at possibly making this interesting. Play good consistent football and lead this team to 9/10 wins minimum and playoff birth. He failed miserably on the quest and without a couple late miracle rallies to win a couple games he wouldn't have made it this far. Heeeeeeeres Johnny

He should have been starting weeks ago.....Hoyer exposed, Orton exposed, all these garbage journeymen always get exposed once they start some games and teams get film on em

Manziel will make some mistakes but he gives you a much better chance of winning the game ultimately

Eh not so fast MLD remember a guy named Gannon? Career journeyman, never a star finally landed in Oak and won mvp , while leading his team to a SB appearance (probably should have gone to 2), plenty of playoff wins, div titles. Then you got Bad Brad Johnson and Trent Dynamo Dilfer who led their squads to SB rings........well maybe I went a bit overboard with last 2 ex.

Yeah we stacked with talent and had biggest baddest o-line since 90's Cowgirls, 2 absolute legends at receiver, strong run gm, and that Gannon/Gruden marriage worked so well. Those things all so important to having success is the ingredients and recipe that just work. I know a ton of Kc fans who bitch about getting rid of Gannon and I have to point out these things. We had way more talent on offense than KC at time, ran west coast offense, and perfect Qb /coach chemistry. Sometimes you just gotta find the right fit and dynamic!

It's "Johnny Football" time in Cleveland. Johnny Manziel will make his first career start for the Cleveland Browns this week against the Cincinnati Bengals, as first reported by Fox Sports Insider Jay Glazer, and that's lit a fire under football bettors.

Manziel's first career start has sparked massive betting interest at online sportsbooks, with money coming in strong on Cleveland following the announcement and moving the Browns from as big as +2.5 to 1-point favorites hosting the Bengals Sunday.

SportsInteraction.com was one of those markets that reacted to a flood of money on the underdog and moved the spread across the fence, making the Browns brief -1 favorites before bettors bought back the Bengals as 1-point underdogs and pushed the line back to a pick'em.

"Yeah just heavy action from the 'Johnny Football' crowd," says a spokeman for SportsInteraction, stating that about 56 percent of bets are on the Browns. "Our guys expect it to settle down now that the decision has been made. I don't see the Browns becoming the favorite in this game just because they've decided to start their backup QB. Bettors closer to Sunday won't be as caught up in the QB circus."

Online shop Bookmaker.ag also had the Browns as low as -1 before action came in on Cincinnati at the discount spread.

"We have taken a few more Browns bets since Manziel was named the starter," says John Lester, senior lines manager for BookMaker.eu. "However, the -1 we were dealing earlier today has moved back to a pick because of a sharp syndicate backing the Bengals at +1."

PinnacleSports.com opened Cincinnati -1 and is currently dealing a pick despite having more bets come in on the Bengals' line.

"It's still very early in Bengals-Browns betting, but we're seeing some conflicting trends. The early BetShare - our name for the percent of bets placed - favors the Bengals, with over 70 percent of spread bets backing Cincy," says a spokesperson for PinnacleSports. "Early bets tend to move the market more than late ones, but that move suggests the bigger money has been on Manziel mania."

According to Michael Stewart, an oddsmaker with CarbonSports.ag who moved Cleveland from +2.5 to +1, the rush of Cleveland action has balanced out the early money on Cincinnati.

In Las Vegas, many books are dealing Cleveland +1 but it's more of a reaction to the online markets taking action. Ed Salmons, an oddsmaker for the Las Vegas Westgate Superbook says there has been zero increase in action on Cleveland since Manziel was officially named starter.

According to Jeff Stoneback, sportsbook manager at the MGM Mirage, "Johnny Football" fever hasn't hit there yet either, but expects the Browns to be a very popular play with the tourists as the weekend gets closer. Stoneback also says sharps will be keeping a close eye on how far this spread moves.

"The pros might be waiting to see what happens this week and perhaps get the Bengals as +1 or +1.5 underdog depending on how much the tourists jump in," he says. "At this point, with the way (Brian) Hoyer's playing, (Manziel) doesn't give (the Browns) a better chance to win but he doesn't give them a worse chance either. They really have nothing to lose by playing him."

Manziel replaces Brian Hoyer, who started Cleveland's first 13 games but has struggled recently, throwing just one touchdown to eight interceptions in the last five games, completing 53.5 percent of his passes.

Cleveland did find success against the spread with Hoyer under center, going 7-4-2 ATS with him this season.

In Manziel's only extended game action against Buffalo, he went 5-8 for 63 yards and a rushing touchdown.

The total has moved as low as 43 points after opening at 44.5.

Bengals D left when Zimmer did. This would have been a tough spot a year ago, his counterpart if Andy Dalton who's awful on the road. Manziel starts his career off with a huge W and basks in the hype that he so desperately wants.

We can hate but they drafted him to play. If Hoyer played subpar the Browns wouldn't have needed to try this qb change. They had to do it.

What the heck he was doing since they drafted him? He is not prepared. Doesn't know what the heck he is doing.

This Hoyer guy is not so bad after all. Brutal game for Manziel. Looks awful so far in his first start.
