It's an American tradition to use polls to determine the best team. One of our forefathers great gift to sports fans.

It was at Baylor tho. Something that seems lost on the bobble heads making Baylors case. 3 point win at home, home field generally excepted as worth 3 or so points (give or take depending on venue), so while I'm not gonna say a head to head win shouldn't matter I also don't think it the end all be all especially if it wasn't a neutral site gm. Even tho it be messed up the committee should shun them both for not being in a conf w a championship gm. That will teach them..

The simple reason is that there are over 100 eligible college teams while the NFL has 32. Simple record is not good enough to establish playoff teams. The nature of football doesn't allow a tournament like NCAA basketball.

Thats the biggest issue with this format. By my calculations, assuming you played the championship game on Saturday the 3rd, you have to play the opening round games on November the 29th.

It would also mean that The top 8 seeds wouldnt play between Nov 22nd and Dec 13th. Three weeks off is too long.

16 teams would solve it i promise u because people wont give a crap about the argument that # 17 and 18 has.

that said a 16 teamer woykd really hurt the reg season and woukd crush the bowl system so we wont see it in our lifetime
