One of the most clutch playoff hitters we've seen in years and he's not even 30

    20m sounds about right

I just can't imagine him aging very well.

You're right about him being clutch, in October, a couple of weeks a year, but I never really considered him a focal point of the Giants.

    we've seen much worse contracts

He's only 28, so his contract only takes him to 33

No reason they can't get at least 3 productive years out of the guy. Hell even if they get 1 monster post season from him the contract will be worth it

Bringing back Lester would help get them back in the playoffs.

That lineup appears to be stacked with Dominicans that can rake, and Pedroai.

He's not only clutch, he's one of the best in the game at hitting elite pitchers best stuff too.

From what I hear, the Lester deal is unofficially official.
Shit, Red Sox and Lester had a 'closed door' deal done the day before he left for Oakland.

Han - Ram and Panda on the left side of the infield.
If Hanley stays healthy, look out.

That would be retarded to shop him out. Sign Cespedes back up. Cesps was the reason the A's were contenders.

Redsox make 2 great moves here. Let's face it they have never been shy with the money over the past 10-15 years.
You got a discount on Hanley because of his injuries, and you overpaid a tiny bit for Sandyballs. Evens out IMO.

I'm a little disappointed in Pablo going to the Redsux for a measly 5 million more though, unless the giants reported offer of 95 mill was inaccurate.
I wanted to see him stay.
That team loves him and he loved that team.
Wondering if he was just sour about them not giving him a better offer earlier in the season last year.
He basically won that team those rings with his playoff performances offensively.
He was the fire/spark in that lineup.
I think the Giants will regret this, as I think they will suffer a bigger loss than they think in that clubhouse.

I'm gonna say gamble and say Redsox keep him now with these 2 moves.
I don't like him, very overrated player, but I think the Redsox changed their gameplan here from being conservative and doing a minor rebuild to going for it and spending a ton again.
The one thing about Cespedes is he's never had lethal bats around him.
These signings can help him out bigtime and I can see him improving offensively next year.
Still very undisciplined at the plate, and lacks mental game.

Another point to bring up, you think Panda is going to miss hitting against Kershaw, Greinke, Ryu, Tyson Ross, Ian Kennedy, Andrew Cashner and the rest on a weekly basis.

Now he gets cream puff AL East pitchings, however, there is a certain truth to the baseball adage 'he has to learn the league' but he's such a good hitter, and can pick it for a tubby gentleman too, he ain't Brooks Robinson or Michael Jack Schmidt, but he's got a real good glove too.
