Congrats on advancing, on a Thursday no less. That’s great you have Balt next week. I have no such options so I will likely go with SF vs Car or Eagles vs Dallas but I really don’t like using my hometown team. I also saw the look ahead line was Philly -3.5 which stinks of an upset.Originally posted by MadisonSurvived w/NE. Likely BAL next week. Hope the NFL world turns upside down this week. 1 of 83 left of 1245. I have zero faith in NE tonight. Was forced? to play them as 90% of the remaining 83 all have the same availability. Really kind of sucks as I got this far and best case , other than wild plays, is likely at least 10 survive to the finish.Originally posted by Headsterx
Pats playing well and at home against the Jets on TNF. This is an easy play. Good luck!
Was thinking of maybe MIA but still not sure that gets me as NE at NYJ other likely playable spot. Tough year!
Question ... Anyone play in a pool where admin doesn't disclose %vig?Leave a comment:

Seabrook, but certainly many days years at Wonderland. To convince her I bought dinner 40 something nights in a row at the Hilltop.Originally posted by stevenash
Wonderland in Revere, Mass.?
Fillet and huge lobster pie was like $15. Fillet was so big that they had to teach me what "butterfly" meant. For those unknowing, It was so thick they had to slice it in half to cook it properly.
In my glory days distance tracks would publish their last 6 starts. Name escapes (Telmor?), but I was one of a short few who had exposure to priors at somewhat superior tracks. There were so many ways back in the day to get sharp data. AI and all is great I guess, but now seems everyone knows everything. Maybe it was too easy back then. Add .05 and .10 lines.
Sorry for the ramble just missing some precious history.
Best to all this week!!Leave a comment:

No, I was smart enough to keep the mess inhouse.
Didn't want to incur additional.
Several of my friends are suggesting my wife for HOF. LOL. Still get reminded of the time I was supposed to take her out for Birthday/Anniversary and subconsciously took a sharp left to the Dog races exit (my regular). OOOps. LOL.
Anyway, BEST to all!!😂 1Leave a comment:

Amazing the difference coaches can make. !!!Originally posted by stevenash
I hear your concern, NE should be safe though, Vrabel is too good a coach to have a let down game.Leave a comment:

Yeah, when I used to really gamble (70/80,s) i broke the TV once. Another life lesson as all that did was give me 2 minutes of joy and $700 out of pocket for new TV. Back in those days you got a shitty 360RES tv for $700. Anyway was an expensive lesson.

Now you can get a 40" Magnavox with brilliant resolution for 200 dollars.
There are certain things in life you pay up for, and you pay down for.
TVs you can get quality while paying down at the same time.Leave a comment:

Shark, over 15 years of doing survivor I have substantially reduced my emphasis on home field. There is a BIG variance regarding which HF you're talking about. Also DIV games. These people are not 24hr/per week/mth/season. Used to be 12/14 games with reasonable travel. It's a different world now where emotional highs and lows matter.Originally posted by Shark
brutal. I got knocked out of a small pool with only 6 people left and also knocked out of the DraftKings pool as well all on Buffalo.
just have the one entry left in a 107/1362 contest. I have a rule of no road, divisional teams but this far into the season you gotta consider everything. Shame on me for breaking that rule, ugh.
Anyway, I hate when I warm myself (BUF letdown off KC) and don't listen. My gambling mind, even after 60 years tells me things and stupidity/stubborness/age cause me to mistake.Leave a comment:

We agree often. FYI I'm in NE, worried about Maye's last performance (ATL). Expecting them to regress today (TB). That short week concerns me!! Consider "popularity". Thinking VSIN projecting a very high NE usage THU. Causing me to think.Originally posted by SharkIn my leagues the picks are due Thursday 8pm so it doesn’t make much difference if I play the Thursday or Sunday games. Though I will avoid Thursday if possible because they always seem like such a crap shoot with the short week.
it’s been nice scanning next week’s possibilities with a win already secured on Thursday. I am considering another Thursday game with New England facing NYJ. I think I will use NE either of the next two weeks vs NYJ or @CIN.

Nasher survivor is a love hate. Bottom line I'd almost always prefer losing earlier. I am a seasoned survivor player (15 years?) and have been way to close 3 of the last 5 years. Putting in the effort I do and essentially wasting 16 -18 weeks of your life, (And yes they are more and more precious as I age), is VERY PAINFUL.Originally posted by stevenash
Conversely, is there anything that doesn't suck more than getting knocked out on a Thursday?Leave a comment:

Depends on the closing line at the Jets. But that's a great stat (either way).Originally posted by MadisonInteresting stat CAR.
This is the first time the Panthers have been favored all season, and in each of the past nine times they've been favored, they've lost.
Carolina hasn't been favored too often. We'll see how it plays out today.Leave a comment:

Maybe Parcells is wrong about you're only as good as your record says it is, and all that.Originally posted by SharkMan that team sucks! Denver, not Vegas. Glad I survived…
Denver is 8-2 because they got fat on a bunch of bottom feeders to start the year, and they needed a gift from heaven to beat the Giants. Their only 'quality' win was against a down-year Eagle team.Leave a comment:

Popularity of your picks can be a very important metric in general. In my case BUF has low popularity versus the odds.Originally posted by SharkI’ll be going den/buff with my two entries. Most people have already used den or buff or both. 175 entries left in the large pool and 6 entries left in the small pool.

Right now thinking maybe 2 BUF , 1 DEN. I still have a few live teams left, PHI, NE, TB, BUF, LAC, HOU, BAL for all 3 picks. Have 1 SEA saved for 3 or so weeks out.Originally posted by Shark
I like the idea of diversity this week with den/buff/sea. Would hate for all entries to go down together this far in. Plus you save buff with a couple of your entries for a rainy day(week) hopefully.
Cautious about laying my survivor life on Bo Nix??
GL Bud!👍 1Leave a comment:
