    He made some poor real estate investments a few years back on the lake with a couple of partners. No secret. But the paying off of his current residence plus the property taxes was worked out as a compensation decision to keep him focused on staying atop each year in football. Just like they give him the Benz and the Fords for 'product placement' and Coke pays him $$$ a year also Nike....its just part of being who he is.
