Sunday NFL Recap per FootballGuys (Week 8)

PHI - WR Jeremy Maclin has giant performance
    Source: The Associated Press
Philadelphia Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin posted 12 receptions for 187 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 8 game against the Arizona Cardinals.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Maclin took a huge hit in this one and returned, fueling the Eagles passing game against the vulnerable Cardinals secondary. Maclin isn't quite a WR1, but he obviously has high upside in every week he takes the field.

ARI - RB Andre Ellington finds end zone
    Source: The Associated Press
Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington carried 23 times for 71 yards and a touchdown in Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles, and he added three receptions for 14 yards.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Ellington has been doing yeoman's work, grinding out the tough yards for an offensive line that doesn't dominate at the line of scrimmage. He also got the goal line work today, and vulture Stepfan Taylor later left the game. Consider Ellington an RB1 going forward as the lead back on a winning team with a good passing game.

ARI - WR John Brown posts long score
    Source: The Associated Press
Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown hauled in five receptions for 119 yards with a 75-yard touchdown in Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Brown was able to get behind the defense at a key moment in the game and he converted with the game-winning score and a huge game for anyone who was desperate enough to start him. He has what the heck flex status with Carson Palmer's arm strength back and able to lead Brown for long scores in any given week.

ARI - No statistics for WR Michael Floyd
    Source: The Associated Press
Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd was targeted four times in Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles, but he did not have any receptions or touches.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Floyd got banged up during the game and couldn't reel in any of his deep targets on a 300+ yard day for Carson Palmer. Next week against Dallas should be another opportunity for a bigger game against a suspect secondary, but a floor of a zero can be hard to swallow.

CLE - TE Jordan Cameron will not return
    Source: Raiders.com
Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron (concussion) suffered a concussion in the Week 8 game against the Oakland Raiders and he will not return.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Cameron's season continues to be a disappointment for his owners. This week he was finally getting on track before he went out with this injury. Tampa Bay is up next week in a game that Cameron's owners probably did not want to miss, as they gave up six catches to Chase Ford of the Vikings today.

TEN - Mixed results for Zach Mettenberger
    Source: The Associated Press
Tennessee Titans QB Zach Mettenberger turned the ball over twice (one interception, one fumble lost) in his first career start in Week 8 against the Houston Texans, but he also threw for 299 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Mettenberger hung in and the offense showed a little more fight later on than it hard for the most part with Charlie Whitehurst and Jake Locker. There's a glimmer of hope for Justin Hunter owners in the form of a garbage time touchdown too. Next week brings a bye for the Titans to really focus on the task of modifying the offense to fit Mettenberger's limited strengths and considerable weaknesses at this early point of his career.

HOU - RB Arian Foster posts giant stat line
    Source: The Associated Press
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster topped 100 yards rushing for the fourth consecutive game in Week 8 against the Tennessee Titans. He ran for 151 yards and two touchdowns, while also adding a score through the air.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Foster's fantasy stock was plagued with injury worries, but he has produced on a level that only Demarco Murray has matched so far this year. With a good defense and offensive line, Foster is entrenched as an elite RB1 heading into a matchup with the Eagles next week.

NE - QB Tom Brady stays red hot
    Source: ESPNBoston.com
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 30 of his 35 pass attempts for 354 yards and five touchdowns in Week 8 against the Chicago Bears. After a slow start to the season, Brady has thrown for 1,268 yards, 14 touchdowns and no interceptions over the past four games. Sunday marked the sixth time in his career he threw five or more touchdowns in a single game. His 148.4 passer rating was the eighth best of his career.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Brady had one of the most efficient games in NFL history. He is at peak form heading into a showdown with Peyton Manning next week.

NYJ - WR Percy Harvin totals 50 yards in debut
    Source: The Associated Press
New York Jets WR Percy Harvin ran four times for 28 yards in Week 8 against the Buffalo Bills, and he added three receptions for 22 yards in his team debut.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Harvin wasn't used as any more central of a part of the offense than he was at Seattle. The Jets offense has flare ups of dumpsterfire at random times, so Harvin might be relegated to what the heck flex status with a limited demonstrated playoff this season.

NYJ - Jets starting QB to be determined
Source: New York Daily News - Manish Mehta
New York Jets QB Geno Smith completed just two of his eight pass attempts for five yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions before being benched in favor of QB Michael Vick in Week 8 against the Buffalo Bills. Vick completed half of his 36 pass attempts for 153 yards, no touchdowns and an interception. Head coach Rex Ryan said Sunday, Oct. 26, that he has 'no idea' who the starting quarterback will be in Week 9.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Smith had some sort of x-ray, but no injury can explain his performance. No matter who we see against the Chiefs next week, you'll want to start their defense.

CIN - RB Giovani Bernard injured hip
    Source: NFL.com
Cincinnati Bengals RB Giovani Bernard (hip) suffered a right hip injury in Week 8 and is considered questionable to return.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Bernard has been getting dinged too frequently for his owners to feel comfortable carrying him without Jeremy Hill on the bench. His owners need to keep their fingers crossed that he is ready for the matchup at Jacksonville next week.

TB - RB Doug Martin injures ankle
Source: Tampa Bay Times - Greg Auman
Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin (ankle) suffered an ankle injury in Week 8 and is considered questionable to return.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Martin was supposedly on the trade block, but this will throw a monkeywrench into the Bucs plans to trade him. Rookie Charles Sims should get a long look in the backfield when he is ready, but it is still the Bucs offense, so don't get too excited.

STL - WR Brian Quick carted off
Source: St. Louis Post-Dispatch - Jim Thomas
St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick (arm) was carted off the field after suffering an arm injury in Week 8.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Stedman Bailey could get a chance to stick as a starter if Quick misses extended time, although the character of the Rams offense is tilting more towards safe passing and running right now.

STL - RB Zac Stacy could be available
Source: CBSSports.com - Jason La Canfora
St. Louis Rams RB Zac Stacy could be on the trade block since it appears he has fallen out of favor with the Rams.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
And yet Jeff Fisher says he could get 25 carries any week now. Stacy might bring more in a deal than Doug Martin. They have similar measureables and Stacy has one more year left on his rookie deal.

TB - Bucs want a lot for WR Vincent Jackson
Source: CBSSports.com - Jason La Canfora
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson likely would cost an interested team a second-round draft choice if they wanted to acquire him in a trade before the trade deadline, according to a source.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Bucs have gotten two plus good years out of Jackson and their money's worth, but in the middle of yet another rebuild, it might be better to go back to the drawing board with a very similar talent in Mike Evans just taken in the first round this year.

SEA - RB Marshawn Lynch not expected back in '15
    Source: ESPN - Chris Mortensen
Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch's antics have grown tired for the Seahawks, and he's not expected to return in 2015.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Chances are Lynch is not a Seahawk next year, but the reasons are more financial than off the field "antics". Robert Turbin and Christine Michael have a lot of upside for 2015.

SEA - Seattle wants WR Vincent Jackson
    Source: NFL.com - Ian Rapoport
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson is drawing trade interest from the Seattle Seahawks.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Eagles, Seahawks, Patriots could all use Jackson, although the Patriots offense would probably give fantasy owners the most bang for the buck. Mike Evans could be the #1 receiver for the Bucs very soon, and it does make sense for the new regime to start to rebuild with the Bucs heading towards another losing season.
