Opening line:
Giants -125
Royals +115
Total: 7 with the over juiced.
Discuss...what are we thinking here?
I don't think I can roll with Vargas, one of those pitchers that kills me either way.
Nothing to do so I'll lay out some random things for shits.
Pretty pointless, but why not.
10/22
Herrera 1.1 IP 32 pitches
Davis 1.0 IP 14 pitches
Holland 1.0 IP 16 pitches
10/24
Herrera 1.1 IP 27 pitches
Finnegan 0.2 IP 8 pitches
Davis 1.0 IP 12 pitches
Holland 1.0 IP 8 pitches
-Royals brought out the whole shut down crew last night along with the kid Finnegan. None needed in game 1, but the big 3 in game 2 and 3.
Shields, Duffy, Collins and Frason went in game 1 (10/21). 3/3/2/1 for IP and 71, 59, 31 and 13 for pitches.
Also why I like Shields over Bum in game 5 as I mentioned in another thread.
Now to the Giants.
Game 1: Bumgarner obviously did most of the work.
Bumgarner 7.0 IP 106 Pitches
Lopez 1.0 IP 9 Pitches
Strickland 1.0 IP 14 Pitches
10/22
Peavy 5.0 IP 66 Pitches
Machi 0.0 IP 3 Pitches
Lopez 0.1 IP 3 Pitches
Strickland 0.0 IP 6 Pitches
Affeldt 0.2 IP 5 Pitches
Lincecum 1.2 IP 23 Pitches
Casilla 0.1 IP 1 Pitch
10/24
Hudson 5.2 IP 76 Pitches
Lopez 0.1 IP 19 Pitches
Romo 1.1 IP 18 Pitches
Affeldt 1.1 IP 13 Pitches
Casilla 0.1 IP 3 Pitches
SBR makes this a bitch to even post. Wanted it more organized but numbers should still be right.
Waste of time though, everyone can look it up but felt like it.
Now some stats for the pitchers going in game 4.
Vargas:
12-10 on the year with a 3.71 ERA (RS) 30 GS
1-0 with a 2.38 ERA (PS) 2 GS in 11.1 IP
3 GS vs. SF in career
0-1
20 IP 3.15 ERA
Away (this year) 14 GS 5-4 2.73 ERA .238 BAA
Vogelsong:
8-13 on the year with a 4.00 ERA (RS) 32 GS
0-0 with a 5.19 ERA (PS) 2 GS in 8.2 IP
2 G vs. KC in career
0-0
2 IP 18.00 ERA
Unreal, that took forever and isn't all that helpful with picking a winner.
I'm hoping I sit this one out and just go with football, but GL fellas. I do think SF wins in my gut.
