    NFL Sunday Recap per footballguys

NO - TE Jimmy Graham has shoulder sprain
    Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Mike Florio
Updating a previous report, the injury for New Orleans Saints TE Jimmy Graham (shoulder) is not believed to be serious, according to a league source. The team is heading into a bye, but it is still unclear if he will be able to return Oct. 19 when the team faces the Detroit Lions in Week 7.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We'll just have to wait until next week to know where we stand with Graham, but his pattern of injuries is starting to make it seem inevitable that he will suffer an injury that causes him to miss time or lose effectiveness by midseason every year.

DET - WR Calvin Johnson aggravates injury
Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett
Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson (ankle) re-injured his right ankle in the third quarter of the Week 5 game against the Buffalo Bills while making his only catch of the contest. Johnson grabbed his lower right leg as he went down and did not return to the game. 'I won't be certain if it's a long-term issue, but he did take a pretty good whack right there on the side of his leg,' head coach Jim Caldwell said Sunday, Oct. 5. 'They looked at it, but they'll evaluated him further, probably tomorrow and get a good look at him.'
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The best thing for the Lions and Johnson's fantasy owners would be sitting him next week vs Minnesota so his leg can heal. The Lions bye week isn't until Week 9, so if Johnson is going to get some relief, it will have to be from the Lions.

DET - RB Reggie Bush feeling good
Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett
Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) downplayed his injury after the Week 5 game against the Buffalo Bills. 'I feel good, but we'll see,' Bush said Sunday, Oct. 5. 'I'll speak to doctors and trainers and we'll take the necessary precautions to do whatever I need to do to get healthy for this week.'
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Bush has a reputation of not staying healthy for long and sometimes not being the best at playing well through injuries. Joique Bell should be cleared from his concussion and George Winn ran well today, so the Lions should be able to be cautious with Bush if they are comfortable going into the Vikings game with only two active backs.

STL - WR Brian Quick finds end zone twice
    Source: The Associated Press
St. Louis Cardinals WR Brian Quick posted a team-high five receptions with a game-high 87 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 5 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Quick is working well as a downfield threat and a red zone targets, and Austin Davis is happy to give him chances to make plays. He's established as a WR3/Flex with his value trending up.

STL - QB Austin Davis productive in loss
    Source: The Associated Press
St. Louis Rams QB Austin Davis completed 29 of his 49 pass attempts for 375 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 5 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. It was his first start since being named as the starter for the rest of the season.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Davis was down 34-7, but furiously brought his team back in the fourth quarter. He has a myriad of developing weapons, and Davis is a gunslinger with an aggressive attitude, so he could be a useful fantasy QB for streamers this year.

STL - RB Zac Stacy suffers calf injury
Source: St. Louis Post-Dispatch - Jim Thomas
St. Louis Rams RB Zac Stacy (calf) suffered a calf injury in the Week 5 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, head coach Jeff Fisher said Sunday, Oct. 5. Fisher said Stacy was not pulled from the game due to a fumble that led to a Philadelphia touchdown.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Stacy has a tough matchup against the 49ers up next week if he can go. Benny Cunningham would likely get the start if he can not, but we would also see Trey Watts and maybe even healthy scratch to this point third-round pick Tre Mason.

NYJ - QB Geno Smith to start in Week 6
Source: NFL Network - Andrew Siciliano
Updating a previous report, New York Jets QB Geno Smith will start in Week 6, head coach Rex Ryan said Sunday, Oct. 5.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It isn't like Michael Vick did a great job moving the offense, either, and Vick didn't look like the dangerous runner he has been as recently as last season. Smith still doesn't stand much of a chance of beating the Broncos.

TEN - QB Jake Locker to have MRI Monday
Source: The Tennessean - Jim Wyatt
Updating a previous report, Tennessee Titans QB Jake Locker (hand, thumb) had his right hand or thumb area taped after the Week 5 game against the Cleveland Browns. He said Sunday, Oct. 5, that his thumb is sore and he will know more after his MRI Monday, Oct. 6. X-rays after the game looked clean.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Locker will be tough to trust despite a great matchup against Jacksonville next week. Whoever starts at QB for the Titans will be worth a look for streamers either way. Locker was playing well when he went down this week.

DET - Tough day for PK Alex Henery
Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett
Detroit Lions PK Alex Henery misfired on three field goal attempts in the Week 5 game against the Buffalo Bills, but he was able to tack on a pair of extra points.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Matt Prater is available. Henery just burned through another kicking job.

SD - RB Donald Brown has concussion
Source: NFL Red Zone - Scott Hanson
Updating a previous report, San Diego Chargers RB Donald Brown (concussion) suffered a concussion in the Week 5 game against the New York Jets and he will not return.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Brown is no sure thing to be ready for the game at Oakland next week, and Branden Oliver is looking better than Brown did anyway. It looks like Oliver is the back to own until Ryan Mathews returns.

DAL - RB DeMarco Murray in rare company
Source: NFL Red Zone - Scott Hanson
Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray carried 31 times for 136 yards in the Week 5 game against the Houston Texans, and he added six receptions for 56 yards. Murray is only the second player in NFL history to start with five or more 100 yard rushing games to start the season. Former Buffalo Bills RB O.J. Simpson also accomplished the feat in 1973 and 1975.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Murray is on fire, but the Cowboys have to let him cool off a little or he won't hold up. He is currently on pace for well over 400 carries this year.

ATL - WR Roddy White hits milestone
    Source: AtlantaFalcons.com
Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White had just two catches for 26 yards in the Week 5 game against the New York Giants. He was able to reach 700 receptions for his career, becoming just the 43rd player in NFL history to reach that number.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
White still appears to be fading to the "not Julio Jones" targets in the Falcons passing game. He seems unlikely to deliver on his fourth round value at this point.

NYG - RB Andre Williams has 22 touches
    Source: NFL
New York Giants RB Andre Williams carried 20 times for 65 yards and a touchdown in the Week 5 game against the Atlanta Falcons, and he added two receptions for 18 yards.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Williams could be called on to start next week vs. Philadelphia pending the results of Rashad Jennings' MRI. He didn't look as out of sorts in the passing game as he had in previous weeks, and it looks like the Giants are ready to depend on Williams in the backfield if they have to.

NYG - Odell Beckham debuts with TD
    Source: NFL.com
New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) had four receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown in the Week 5 game against the Atlanta Falcons in his team debut.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Beckham looked dynamic and should be an important part of the offense going forward. Rueben Randle and Victor Cruz owners have to be disappointed and how well Beckham fit in the offense, but his success will help make the whole offense more explosive and create more one-on-one matchups in coverage.

DAL - PK Dan Bailey hits game winner
    Source: ESPNDallas.com - Tim MacMahon
Dallas Cowboys PK Dan Bailey drilled the game-winning field goal in overtime from 49 yards in Week 5 against the Houston Texans. It was his ninth career game-winning field goal.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Cowboys are winning right now with a great offensive line and bend, but don't break defense, which usually puts the kicker in the spotlight. Bailey is one of the best fantasy kickers to own this year.

NYG - RB Rashad Jennings has knee injury
Source: New York Daily News - Ralph Vacchiano
New York Giants RB Rashad Jennings (knee) suffered a sprained left knee in Sunday's game.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Andre Williams saw lots of work with Jennings out. Stay tuned this week to see how serious the injury is.

CLE - Isaiah Crowell the No. 2 back?
Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot
Cleveland Browns RB Isaiah Crowell was the second back to play in the team's Week 5 game Sunday, Oct. 5, ahead of RB Terrance West.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Crowell should be stashed in all but the shortest bench leagues. He has a terrific skillset and talent level for an already strong running game. Ben Tate hasn't stayed healthy in the past, so Crowell could be set up for a big opportunity as the #2 back.
