Could not agree more,, why in the hell would they not go with Norris is beyond me. First time Soto will catch Lester. I know that this might be a stretch in comparing Baseball to football, but a Center and a QB is like a pitcher and his catcher. ie. The chargers this past week, the center was new and an absolute mess.

Note to Oakland: Now is not the time to be fancy and try out sh7t. Put Norris in and be done with it. In baseball it is always critical who u pair up, sure the corners can be changed without harm, but Catcher/Pitcher and 2B/SS combos are critical.

Expect several pass balls, tonight,,lets hope its not at the wrong times.

for my sake i hope u r right Nash. I play DFS, and i do not have Butler in any of my lineups. However Hosmer has been on absolute fire as of late, bvp wise.

    Hosmer owns tonight.
Been watching this team all season, made very nice coin on over 82 wins, almost collected a kings randsom on KC to win the central.
Calling the Royals a cash cow ATM this season is a little much, but they made me nice bank this year, very nice bank.

I was listening to Paul Konerko on Golic's show this morning, Pauly says the winner of this game represents the AL in the WS

I think your analogy to center / QB is way off.

Why expect several passed balls? These guys are veteran professionals.

That has never worked together before.

Josh Thole sucks Donkey Kong, but R.A. Dickey would not pitch to any other catcher.

Jose Molina weighs 2500 pounds, hits .210, needs a calendar month to get from first to third on a single, makes a gazillion bucks from Tampa Bay because Shileds (you know, that guy pitching tonight) preferred to pitch to him.

Tim McCarver was both Steve Carlton and Bob Gibson's catcher of choice, and T-Mac wasn't really a good hitter.

*McCarver once went to the mound to talk with Gibson on how to pitch to a certain batter
Bob Gibson told T-Mac "what the fuk are you doing, get back behind the fuking plate, the only thing you know about pitching is is that you can't hit it"

Point is, certain pitchers won't pitch to certain catchers.

I'm a jays fan and Thole is a crap bag. Auto out. We should of never traded our farm system to bring Dickey and the Marlins rejects in. The reason they got THOLE is because JP Arencebia couldn't catch him. They tried it two games and he had like 7 past balls. Being a Jays fan is tough business.

Thole would catch every Dickey start he made with the Mets.

Yeah, but how can you not love Maddon?

I love Maddon, he makes me say to myself "wtf did he just say?" about 3x a week.

Oops, brain fart, doing like 2000 things at same time.
    Not advisable.

    Why a Jays fan?
Does it go back to Joe Carter?

Touch 'em all Joe, you'll never hit a bigger home run in your life

He's also gone at the end of the post season I'm told.
But to his credit, he's been a good company man, played all seven years in KC, the first six on real crappy teams.
And that 2012 season was a monster.
He needs a change of scenery, glad he's here for this one though.

Something worth noting... the Royals are not very good at home. Especially when having a crowd of 30k or more, they are really bad.

3 over .500 at home this year, I noted that in the beginning, but yeah.
I can overlook that stat tonight though.

I want KC to win, they are an easy team to like, but I am not going large here, there are much better spots later this week to unload.
This game is not a game to unload on, couple of props, and little side action, that's it.

OK, then let's get macro about it.

Instead of focusing on this one particular game, let's concentrate on the fact that he's won exactly one playoff series at Oakland in his 17-year career. No World Series, no pennants -- one series.

Meanwhile, the Marlins have won two championships and the Rays have a pennant during that timeframe.

I want to take the Royals. I've ridden them all year and I'm a big fan of Shields.

I worry that he'll have one bad inning that will cost them. It feels like it has to go Under but I'm gonna pass there.

    How about you?

Should be a great pitching duel. Like the under 6.5 in this one.
