The point of this thread is you really have to think now about going to college and getting into a big debt when you get out

Where you at all out and see if it's worth it

Best of luck on your decisions young guns

Do not listen to Opie as he is a trustee baby

Everything including figs were handed to him on a SilverPlatter

Guy had a Saab in high school

    Honestly....

I didn't ready what people replied to this but there is some validity to it

I got to degrees. One in social work and one in sociology and I don't feel any smarter for it

My degrees allowed me to teach for a year but then I got cut back because I didn't have a credential (more money and more time).

Then my longest job which was 4 years I simply worked my way up at with my degrees not really playing a part.

I owe about 30 grand on student loans so I do get what Coach is saying

Depending on what your majoring in. If you major in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Theatre Arts, PE, then chances are you will be a jerkoff since jobs available in those fields are very limited.

If you Major in Nursing, Engineering, Business Management, or Liberal Studies, then you will always have plenty of jobs paying you 50k or more.

Your BK analogy is just stupid, since full time fast food worker barely makes 20k. Even if you make over 40k after 10 years without a college education, all it takes it one layoff and you will be making close to minimum wage again. While a 4 year college educated Manager who makes 50k that gets layoff, can still immediately get paid 50k or more a year right off the bat. And they won't have to wait another 5-10 years to get a 50-60k annual income salary again.

Education is very important, the sad reality of it is that over the last 25 years net disposable income has increased by just 16 % while the cost of a college ed. went up 561 %.!! This is no problem for the very rich or the very poor(grants, programs, ect.) And yes jobs are hard to find. But to call someone stupid fk or broke fk for going or not going is wrong.!!............!!

it is everywhere, but you can't compare the pay that you get in Cali to anywhere else
of course the cost of living is extremely high here

but if you wanna get a solid degree and payoff your student loan quickly, that's the way to go imo

one other thing that that degree comes with is that you need to pretty much be OK with studying and learning new technologies for life if you wanna stay competitive in that field

Dreams of being a doctor would deteriorate
Taking over the underworld was a clearer fate
Luxury cars, a hundred girls in my face
Laced in name brand had my gameplan mapped out
Lost respect for those cracked out
Most of my elders were failures
