    I mean I guess the trade for Lester was bad. Their offense has been pathetic ever since. Not sure if its all because Cespedes was traded or if they were playing over their head. I really think 80% of this is just regression to the mean. They really had no business being as dominant as they were.

    "Moneyball" is a joke. Worse, it's swept through the league. Now every team plays ball like Oakland, whether they have the personnel to do so or not. That's why MLB is such a shitty product now (combined with the lack of steroids).

    I hope Oakland misses the playoffs. Beane should be tarred and feathered for trading Cespedes.

    This isn't true. The man is a great GM. Given what he has for a payroll he does an outstanding job. Now, I do think he made mistakes going for it this year given the batting potential.

    tigers also. billy beane and tigers gm calling each other joking around making huge trades for aces at the deadline so they had ammo vs each other in the playoffs and neither team makes it. talk about a funny choke job. unfortunately i bet both squeak in
