    G. Stanton just hit a broken bat....

.... 400 foot home run.Wheeler hung a bloody meatball hanging curve, Stanton hit it down at the skinny part of the bat, right over his wrists, cracked the bat some, ball sails over the fence in left-center

Why do pitchers bother pitching to him with singles hitting McGee behind him in the order?

Struck out 8 with horrible location all day.

So many hits on 0-2 hanging breaking balls.

    Holy Mother of God

Niese threw Stanton a filthy down and in pitch, Stanton nine ironed it, had to be 100 feet arching over the left center field fence at the flamingo's feet.

he was offered a football scholarship from ucla.

he could've been a great tight end in the nfl.

but i guess you have longer careers in the major leagues.

I don't know, I would like to think he's smarter than that.
If he's juicing, he better get off the day he signs that big contract.

i was there as well.. i was actually at the bud bar right next to it. I will never forget that month. We were the hottest team in baseball and then it all fell apart. I was also there a few days later when he bounced it off the Bud Bar.

I went to like 13 games straight that month.. had season tickets and lived in a building two blocks away from the stadium for 2 years.

this stanton guy (although he seems legit) wants a 300 million dollar contract. wonder what idiotic franchise will give it to him. not worth half that money over 10 years.

This is the most under-appreciated aspect of sports contracts.

it really is ... people would love to see a guy like that play .. a guy that plays hard all the time and has one of the smoothest swings in baseball .. put him in a lineup with protection behind him and i could only imaging the things he could do .. .

or even put him behind someone like mike trout .. (not saying he would go to LAA but still)

Not just put people in seats, gets viewers tuning in.

You get a high profile game with Marlins Stanton in the OF, Jose Fernandez on the mound against Puig and Kershaw's Dodgers, that game will get viewed.

You market Puig and Fernandez to the latin community, market baseball to the younger set.....
