They should get rid of weight cuts in boxing, MMA, and wrestling

    It's ridiculous now

Just fight at your hydrated, natural weight enough of this nonsense

Maybe start weighing them right before the fight along with a week before

    Has to be some way

I kind of agree too. Guys that weigh 175 cutting to 155 just to have a weight advantage at fight time is kind of silly. But that is how combat sports have always been, so I don't expect it to change anytime soon.

Renan Barao out because of medical issues during weight cut

    It's all so unnecessary

Athletes try to gain an advantage by dehydrating before weigh in then rehydrating before the fight

Some competitions counteract it by doing weigh ins right before the event

Maybe some want to do weigh ins the day before and make extra money with a weigh in show I guess and build anticipation for the fight

Don't pay too much attention to some of the MMA subforum guys in here they defend against anything that remotely criticizes their sport like you were criticizing scripture at a revival

Should be a set amount of weights that are considered a weight class. fighters fight at that, if there over or under they fight in the next or last. pretty fookin simple.

Are the weight classes in MMA every 4-6 pounds like boxing, or different? I remember they used to have like 50 pound differences, that seems unfair.

I guess it's all part of the "sport", glad they ruled groin shots illegal, but I still can not believe the debate that is taking place this year to reinstate groin shots as being legal, it is quite shocking.

Why can't the MMA subforum guys use their superpowers for good instead of just making the world more smug?

Lol I wish only since I cut very little. A second day weigh in would be a better option where you can only gain like 10% of the total amount of the weight class. I think one of the Carolina's has this rule.

It's worse than you think. Nik Lentz comes in at 175 for his fights at 145.

I am campaigning against the contrary surge in public opinion to help PREVENT respected athletes from being hit in the balls... how is this not something good?

Groin shots are still illegal. Groin stomps (12 to 6) are legal and encouraged.

Yeah but the fact that there is such public outcry to MAKE groin shots legal, isnt that more of an issue then the weight cut debate?

There isn't an outcry...just a rumor being spread by "Groin" Cheick Kongo.

Worthless? Hardly. It would be hard to keep a grip with two thumbs in your eye sockets.
