    Let's discuss grading of runlines

I know a guy John, who had KC Royals last night run line -1.5 +135

Game goes to extra innings tied at two.

10th inning Cleveland gets two runs, game then gets suspended due to rain before KC gets their chance to bat in the bottom of the tenth.

    Game will resume on 9/22

John logs into his account and learns his run line wager has been graded a loss.
John calls the book for an explaination as to why this wager is a loss and not no action.
The book states the game went the full nine innings, and was called complete so we are grading this final as 2-2.

John states a run line wager is the same as a total wager, that it must play out to completion.
Book says no, not in this case, the game was called final.

And around and around the two went.

    Who is correct?

The game didn't go final, it is suspended. The book is 100% wrong

The book told my buddy the game was called final before it was suspended, and the grade 'loss' stands

I could take you down in a NY minute. (wait a minute, we've done this before - lol)

The book he uses is a good one though, very good, so I'm not going to name names at this time, I want to make sure John is telling me everything.

it's a loss. the game does not have to complete. it only has to go 8.5 innings. the final score for betting purposes is 2-2 after 9 innings.

    From doc's sports:

For a run line and total bet, the game has to go 8.5 or nine innings, as previously mentioned, so the only way a suspended game could result in action in those bets is if it reaches extra innings and is then suspended. The same rules apply for money line wagering in suspended games. The score of the last completed inning is used to determine the bet unless the home team scores to tie or take the lead in the bottom half of the inning. In that instance the score of the game at the time of the suspended is used.

All RL's lose, (both Sides of RL's) All ML's are no action, and the total is graded(Obviously under 8 wins)......... Those are the rules at every major book, including Vegas.... On another note Royals werent covering a RL last night anyways...........

I tried to tell him to pass on the game, KC is predictable streaky. They are a fade until further notice, they'll heat up again, but not now

How do you possibly not know this??? I thought that you have bet baseball for a few years.

totals and runlines were settled after 9 innings at the score of 2-2. If you bet the over, then you lost. If you took Cleveland +1 or Cleveland +1.5 then you won. Look at my wager

    258965090-1 8/31/14 7:10pm $296.96 $603.30 $544.43 Win 2 Team Parlay
Cancelled 8/31/14 8:05pm MLB Baseball 972 Kansas City Royals -153* vs Cleveland Indians (T House - L must Start D Duffy - L must Start)
    Win 8/31/14 8:05pm MLB Baseball 971 Cleveland Indians/Kansas City Royals Under 8½ -120* (T House - L must Start D Duffy - L must Start)

Hey lardass, I rarely bet runlines, when I do fuktard it's on road teams, and on the rare occasions I do bet runlines, I've never had one suspended, rained out in extra innings or otherwise.

So, I wasn't sure of the rule because I never needed to look it up, and it wasn't my wager anyway scam-boy.

Thanks for your two cents well after the matter was settled here hours ago.

Now don't you have a scam to hatch somewhere?

I read those rules and they are idiotic. Anyone who gives this book their money deserves whatever fate comes their way. Take your money and play elsewhere.

Directly from 5Dimes and most legit books operate under these rules:

All regular season and exhibition baseball games are considered official after 5 innings of play (4½ if the home team is winning). If a game is called or suspended after 5 innings, the winner is determined by the score after the last full inning of play – unless the home team scores to tie or takes the lead in the bottom half of the inning, in that case, the winner is then determined by the score at the time the game is called. When betting on baseball totals or run-lines, the game must go 9 innings (8½ if the home team is winning).

For betting purposes the game is graded as a 2-2 final score. I personally got hosed on this as I had Indians -1 in live betting, but the rule is very clear.

Royals vs Indians Under wager graded cancelled

    258981460-1 8/31/14 8:39pm $500.00 $670.00 $500.00 Cancelled Baseball - .KANSAS CITY ROYALS vs CLEVELAND INDIANS - Game - Total 6.5 ( OT included ) Under 6.5 +134

I wonder if they cancelled the winning wagers and graded the losing wagers a loss? The rules in 5dimes state this wager should be a win as it went over 9 innings. 5Dimes claims.....
" This is another third party company with their own rules" and would not elaborate.

    Thoughts gents?

Got this email from a book

The Royals/Indians game from Sunday August 31st was suspended after 9 complete innings as a result of weather. The official Las Vegas ruling for grading purposes is that there was action on both the total and the run line. The Grand Salami over is also a winner. We appreciate your understanding. Please remember we always follow official Las Vegas rules for grading in these types of situations.
