Tht sounds about right. The Big 12 does not have much, despite what some Big 12 homers in here think.

Texas is going to need a whole lot more than just one year. They probably will lose 7 starters on defense, and possibly 5 or more on offense. Their recruiting has not exactly set the world on fire. I do not see them beating Notre Dame in South Bend, OU in Dallas, or Baylor in Waco. Three losses minimum for Texas in 2015.

2014 Texas 7-5 will be considered a good season by me for them. Not a lot in the cupboard, and 2015 is looking even barer...
OU obviously should be the pick here.

THIS is the conference to take a chance on a longshot because the favorites all have flaws. TCU at a big price for me.

I just do not see TCU keeping up with the likes of OU and Baylor. Not with their offense, which is fair, at best. Getting OU and Baylor back to back is no deal at all.

Oh it is definitely a longshot but worth the risk at the price IMO. Oklahoma will lose at least one game that it is supposed to win like it does every year and Baylor will lose at least one game on the road vs. a competent defense. All TCU needs is just half-decent offensive play (they were much worse than that last year) because the Frogs' defense is very good and experienced. They brought in co-offensive coordinators from two offensive schools (Texas Tech, Houston) to help.

I think that TCU's talent level has not caught up to the level of the good teams, such as OU, Baylor, K-State and Texas. TCU is 6-12 in the two years they have been in the conference. Two of those wins come against a terrible Kansas team (1-17 against conference opponents in that time period). TCU is still a few years away from being a legitimate Big 12 team. K-State is the best longshot, IMO.

This is the week we get to gauge just how good TCU is. It could be telling that Oklahoma is only -4.5 against them.

TCU will probably win Saturday to put themselves in the driver's seat.

It's wide open as long as Oklahoma slips up like they usually do.
