Interesting Raiders Depth Chart Right Now

Andre Holmes is listed as a starting wide receiver ahead of big signee James Jones.

Also Jones-Drew listed first ahead of McFadden, contrary to what Oakland beat writers had said earlier.

McFad as a #2 could keep him healthy and James Jones knows how to be effective as a #3 WR. Good moves.

As a die hard member of Raider Nation I'm not too surprised by the backfield move. McFadden due to injury has been a disappointment and Jones Drew is a dinosaur with alot of miles for a rb. Neither of these guys can be #1 every down kind of back I don't think so a rotating situation I was expecting anyway at the least. Hope they can mix in some packages where both are on at same time and incorporate Dmc more in the passing gm.

Far as James Jones goes it's anyone's guess. Is this guy really a true #1 go to receiver type talent? Or did he just benefit from being in the Packers spread out system and pad #'s with the great A-Rodg throwing him the ball while surrounded with several other nice weapons??

No major surprises there. They always liked Holmes a lot. I thought he would be No. 2, behind Streater, but not shocked to see it other way around.
For me, only surprise is that rookie Gabe Jackson didn't manage to win that left guard starting position. As far as I know, they really wanted to give it him..

Holmes and Streater are listed as the two starters. Jones is listed as a #2, as is Greg Little

James Jones is isn't a #1, he's a complementary guy. But he had big games with Flynn too, not just A-Rodg.

Can't believe the Raiders bailed on Chaz Schilens.

Does it really matter? It's Oakland. Awful team. Schaub or Carr throwing the ball is just bad news at professional level.

seriously looking around the league there are some teams out there that are just horrid. Oakland is in that category

Yeah gonna be another rough year no doubt. Team is very young tho and there are some young guys to possibly be excited about here soon. Think the defense will be pretty solid especially up front biggest worry is getting burned too much on the back end. Far as offense goes that's where the real problems should exist. Which Schaub shows up? And does he have the line and receiving core to at least give him a punchers chance and look decent? Not a whole lot of optimism for this season and Denver improved on defense I think. Does not really matter tho I said when they signed Peyton the div is theirs for the next 3/4 years and the rest of us can hopefully improve and be ready for the post Peyton era. Donkos should take it again with relative ease. Kc was a bit of a fraud last year and got a reality check late they go 8-8 at best, and who knows with the bi-polar Dolts but they "should" finish 2nd I think.

McFadden had that one good season in 2010 and has been a disappointment ever since.

Raiders tight ends are usually a solid option with the poor o line pass blocking. They make guys pro bowlers... zach miller for example and they go elsewhere and catches drop in half

Ive been a raiders fan for 25 years. Pointed at the helmet as a kid and its been a rough run. My biased opinion says stay away. They have a very tough schedule so under seems obvious but you just dont know what you will get with them. Defense looks solid on paper. We shall see if they can get some chemistry together and go 3-3 within the div.

Change of scenery may help MJD, although he's going from 1 lousy team to another.

Tizzy the team is mostly young actually but you need a handful of those older guys with experience. They have good balance I think in that regard and Tuck/Harrison should produce fine, also add championship pedigree to that defense.

Raiders go 7-9 this year. It will be another decade before they are relevant again however.

7-9 would be a great year, I doubt they win that many.

I watched some of that game last night, OAK didn't look too sharp, especially on offense, granted it's early.

I thought that when Al Davis died, Oakland could finally start the path to relevance. Hasn't happened.

Oakland has no hope. It's gotta suck to be a Raiders fan and know your team isn't going to the playoffs before the season even starts.
