Biggie do you realize horse racing is another industry that will eventually be gone

    Major tracks even are hurting

NY tracks get a few thousand people a day..volume way down too

Its a dead game and a huge sucker game and I think the new generation knows this and of course better options now to gamble and more availability of casinos.

Thank God many tracks have slots now because 65% of tracks would be closed

    Biggie give us something

The New York Racing Association is way off its numbers

Purses should be way higher than they currently are

Current pace there will be nobody at any New York racetrack in 5 to 10 years

Is the biggest sucker sport that ever was invented

Part of it is because of massive race fixing

    JJ,

You seem to be quite the authority on race fixing. Massive race fixing? What % of races do you consider are fixed? How did Biggie fix his horses wins? Pay someone to slip in the stall of every other horse and place nails in their shoes? Pay off every other jock? Watch out for Biggie guys, with a handle like that im sure he must be connected!

On a side note ive heard alot of stories from the walkers in morning time.

E.g use a syrenge to put tiger balm or tabassco or other substances up the horses ass before race time.

As for drugs etc im not sure about all tracks but woodbine wont give cheque or put money in ur account for 48 hrs after race and drug test!

Maybe someone else can chime in and let us know if the other tracks are the same with drug testing

    Biggie,

When looking at race charts, I have often seen a horse showing a payoff without credit of a placing on his record. Usually at the bottom there will be a comment that states a drug violation resulted in any purse money being withheld. Dont recall what tracks but im sure this is common at most if not all tracks.

That is probably what you said about Hollywood Park. You probably think that Pimlico is safe. Boy do you have a lot to learn. If the "Big" tracks (as you call them) are in such good shape, how come the little tracks make much more money than the big ones do. I count The Spa and Del Mar as a mid-size track, not a big track.

You guys seem very inexperienced and horse racing it is a dead game and declining rapidly every year

Casinos destroyed horse racing even though some bring revenue to the tracks

Withour casino gambling 65% of race tracks in the United States are bankrupt

Sorry Big but the Spa and Del Mar along with Santa Anita are top tracks. There's no question about it. I'd like to hear what you consider big tracks if those don't qualify?

Listening to hot walkers stories is not the way to go biggie.

Never saw that syringe crap with Tabasco or whatever in my decades there. Oh sure, some idiot probably tried it but the story is dumb from start to finish.

ALL tracks put the money into the account right away but that money has a "hold' put on it until all the testing has been completed. This can be 48-72 hours depending on the day of the week that the race was run. All North American tracks do this. That was in place since day one for me.

With Pimlico being in the "hood", the real estate value there is about nill. In my days, nothing would have pleased me more than closing that place down. A ton of history there? Absolutely. But that's it. The place was a rat infested dump in the middle of a bad part of town.

Each track, big or small, has their own business model and contractual terms when it comes to slots. CharlesTown has as good a contract as anyone and they are making a ton of money, whereas Md. racing was robbed by all the hands in the cookie jar when the slot distribution was carved up.

But with politics being what they are, the W. Va. politicians are doing everything they can to under mind the current contracts and take more for themselves. When that happens, and it will happen, it will regress somewhat.

Where there is money, there is scandal. That has gone on since the first coin was minted.

I guess that scum comment included me JJ.

No chance I will debate the merits of horsemen with you.

These repetitive, uninformed, fortune cookie style answers , are not worthy of a response.

    Good luck with your spreadsheet.

AMEN! He is a MORON and clueless. Love horse racing. He fails to understand and take into account that many people also gamble online and have TVG accounts and The big tracks have over a 100k a race in their pools.
