Belgium has way better defense then what Argentina has. Same goes for midfield. Only one even close to in form in Argentina right now is Messi. While Belgium has a large part of their team delivering.

As for this game, i do not really agree that Germany has the better team on paper currently, especially if you look to current form players are in. Hopefully France has Sakho back for friday aswell.

Unless Hummels is better by friday Germany will be missing both him and Mustafi (injured) which means their defense would be under serious strain.

Well there are many scenarios where each team loses. France could lose because of the following:
1- playing Giroud as main Striker and putting Benzema on the side
2- playing the Germany game where they get exhausted till the end then they get outplayed

Germany could lose because of the following:
    1- playing Ozil and Gotze
2- injuries concerns Hummels and Schweinsteiger
3- not solving the issue of slow retreat of the Germans on counter attacks

This game could go anyway, so the bookies are right to think that there is an equal chance for each team
I will bet on this game on the first 10 minutes

Hummels isn't injured, he has the flu. It's Mustafi who's injured and gone for the rest of the tournament. And i somehow doubt they play Giroud up top again, seeing how Griezmann and Valbuena performed. As for Ozil well they don't really have anyone else to put in his slot.

Yes I know but he was injured before (I think he was missing in US game) he got the flu, it makes me wonder if he is fit to play because he hasn't been practicing and playing

Hummels have played EVERY game except the one against Algeria. And he missed that one because he caught the flu.

Ozil is shit...honestly what a garbage game he played and topped it off with a smashing finish...go position by postion and germany probably has an advantage wherever lahm will play and possibly neuer...but as we saw in the CL semis, ol manuel can be a sieve lol...otherwise id say france has a better team and a coach that as actually won something!

A player winning a World Cup managing a team is not a good omen when playing Germany. Maradona's Argentina was thrashed 4-0 in the quarter-finals in the last WC. But I do agree that where Lahm plays in the next game will be a important factor. Play him at midfield, he will be bulldozed by Pogba and Matuidi. Play him at fullback, he will be more than a match for Valbuena or Griezmann.

Unless Hummels is well Lahm will be in the back line.

If you look at this knockout stage,Colombia was the only team that had real control over there opponent, the remainder of the matchups could have gone either way.

I'd disagree strongly on France vs Nigeria. Nigeria could hang until Giroud left the pitch and France upped their tempo, after that it was a wrap. And Colombia didn't look good at all in the last 20-25 of the 2nd half against Uruguay.

And Enyeama was the reason Nigeria stuck in that game for as long as they did.

Yeah a suppose that's fair,it took quite awhile though, I was on France and I was worried there for abit,if that offside goal would have counted it could have been a much different sort of match.

You knew Colombia would break down Uruguay sooner or later, without Suarez they have no punch,we seen that against Costa Rica they had nothing for those guys.

Same could be said if Deschamps would have just left Giroud on the bench and let Benzema play where he likes to play, and the position he does the best work. I doubt Giroud will get anymore starts though considering how Griezmann has looked, and how Benzema looked as soon as Giroud left the pitch.

There are several teams out there that have made Neuer look very mortal. Ghana put in 2 on him.

Your probably right I didnt see the game against Switzerland but I heard Benzema was pretty dominant in that game. I do think France can play with anyone when there offense is clicking.

It's very simple. If he starts Giroud and leaves Griezmann on the bench then Germany will probably win.

Griezmann and Valbuena will create a lot of trouble attacking from the sides of the pitch. I think France pk and France to advance are the plays.

Argentina considered one of favorites to win the whole thing since this beginning.
Id say people dont think belgium have a shot.

Only educated soccer folks knew anything about belgium before tournament (you and I as 2 of those).

That's why I couldn't help but laugh when people said USA would easily beat belgium.

The lines are the same as Costa Rica - Greece where Big Bear predicted Costa Rica was going to win easy in his ML parlay with Brazil, Germany and Argentina win. None won in regulation.
