If the Royals sign these 3 players they win the World Series. Will they SPEND?

Chase Utely. He can play some second base and DH. Utely with his health issues does not need to play everyday and Infante can play some 3rd base too.

David Price. If they can land him they can go into the playoffs with this rotation

    1.Shields
    2. Price
    3. Guthrie
    4. Duffy

I think Ventura should be moved to the bullpen for the playoffs. This would allow him to throw his fastball at 100mph every pitch if he wasnt asked to throw 100 pitches.

The 3rd player they should sign is Seth Smith.

The Padres are not going anywhere as usual and Smith is a veteran who does not fit in to the Padres long term plans. Seth Smith is clutch as fukk and would add a left handed bat and extra outfielder.

Are those players all free agents?

What the fuk do you think the Royals can give up to get Price and Utley?

And how do you convince Utley to go to a shitty Kansas City market?

He has 10/5. Why the fuk would he agree to go to the Royals?

Problem is they won't sign any of them...end of story. The Royals don't have the money to spend....it's a pipe dream....David Glass has never had those kind of funds available for a run and he never will. He owns Wal-mart...they're in the business on the cheap...and putting millions into the business isn't in the cards. There's a reasons the fans of Kansas City hate the owners...it's because of David Glass...so trust me James Shields is gone after the season because they can't afford him. Guthrie and Duffy will be around because they're under contract, unless they're traded, Price...yeah right only if Ventura and Duffy go in the other direction

Youre the same idiot that said the Hornets were going after Lebron and that Wade and Bosh should sign there too.

Things dont work that way in the real world. Turn on your Nintendo and trade those three players to the Hornets will be the only way this bullshit you dream about happens.

to the guys trying to mock me saying sign mike trout and Miggy too....

Those 2 are MVP candidates on world series contenders.

David Price and Chase Utely are both on last place teams and BOTH ON THE TRADING BLOCK

Price and Utely will both be traded by the trade deadline it just a matter of who will be fortunate to pick them up. Whoever gets them will not have to give up single major league player. They will simply give up their top minor league prospects which is a win win for both teams.

"if " the Royals are willing to do what it takes financially they could have Utely and Price.

Royals much like the Pirates have historically been very cheap.

But the main reason Phillies and Royals want these players gone is bc they want to dump their large contracts.

I'm just saying if the Royals want to make a run they can do it this year but they got to spend some money and clean house with the prospects.

It will be a 1 and done shot, like the Marlins have done to win the world series a few times.

No way in hell the Royals can re-sign Shields, Price, Utely or any big name player after the season. Its just not who they are. But if they want to seize the opportunity this year act like there is no tomorrow....

The World Series trophy is there for the taking.

If by some slim margin they get these guys their farm system is depleted and would take years to replenish.

Then you are left with an aging second baseball well beyond his prime and a pitcher that with no guarantee stays beyond the season.

Not smart to mortgage the future for this season.

They have the tools to get him, but Price isn't their style.

They can call up some prospects to play 2b/3b.

Maybe someone like Hammel or Feldman

You honestly think the Royals are capable of winning the World Series?

If they were/are.... they certainly are not Chase Utley away from doing so.

    No it is not.

It isn't like the Royals are running away with the Division, or even Wild Card for that matter.

You're talking about adding pieces just to be competitive......and mortgaging their future for that.

Once you get into the playoffs, it's whoever gets hot. Royals have a nasty pen, don't see why they couldn't make a run. Every team in the Majors has flaws...even the A's

    Wow. Just wow.

Just when I thought your posts couldn't get any dumber....

    A) who, exactly, would the Royals trade to get even one of these guys, let alone both?

    B) you want them to gut their farm system and mortgage their future for an old 2B and/or a headcase pitcher?

The Royals need none of these players to win the World Series this year.
    They can win without them.
But any moves to upgrade will obviously help their chances.
I think they should take a shot at Price as a rental player at the deadline and see what happens.
If they are making a run and go deep, he could stay.

They could call up Christian Colon for help in the infield. They have a decent farm system...nothing great. They don't need an ace with that pen, they need an innings eater. Ian Kennedy, Scott Feldman, Jason Hammel would serve them fine

They've opened up the check book...

Royals signed DH Raul Ibanez. Ibanez was released by the Angels on June 21 after batting just .157 with a .523 OPS in 57 games. The 42-year-old is doubtful to suddenly shine in Kansas City, where he'll be a bench bat and part-time designated hitter. Ibanez will make the MLB minimum with the Royals. Anaheim is still on the hook for his one-year, $2.75 million deal.
