Is it impossible to beat Pinnacle?

Does anyone think it is actually possible to beat a book like Pinnacle long term? I was just thinking about it and I think it would be virtually impossible. If you were consistently that good they would probably pay you to work for them lol.

Im sure that you could beat them if you specialized in minor markets, but im talking about major markets with >5k limits

The only one I can think of is Haralbob in the NBA, but yeah it would be extremely difficult

But is he STILL winning? Remember he made his fortune by exploiting some inefficiencies that no longer exist, especially first halves.

This doesn't necessarily mean anything, but the other day I was looking back through my bet history at the numerous books I bet at (mainly European books, 5Dimes and Pinnacle), and I noticed something interesting. I know that correlation does not equal causation, but the bets that I would place at Pinnacle would lose more than they would win. I use oddsportal.com to tell me which book has the best odds on a bet, and I place my bet at the book.

So ever since I noticed that, I get that sinking feeling in my stomach when I check oddsportal and see that Pinnacle has the best odds on a game that I want to bet. I still make the bet, as I don't have any definitive data on this, but it is interesting nonetheless.

Yes, it does. From my records, if I just ignored the games where Pinny had the best line (at the given time that I run my data), I definitely would've saved myself some money. And taking it a step further, if I would've just bet the other side it would've given me a nice profit. I'm setting up some additional tracking in my spreadsheet so that I can keep tabs on this. As of now, I'm not going to do anything with the data, just going to continue my bets as normal.

Is Haralbob still an NBA machine?

Does Bob still lay waste to NBA lines?

Haralob "retired" after the books caught up to his algorithm; Pinny's MLB, MLS and EPL lines are eminently beatable.

I recall Sawyer saying that when arbing against Pinny he loses the Pinny side at such a rate that he would have made better money just taking the opposite sides as singles.

Not really. EPL isn't beatable just like NFL and NBA.

Post all your EPL plays for 3 months.

Love people who say they beat something and then never post one play let alone a good sample size.

EPL is not beatable. Sure you can win short term or over a small sample but not long term and not over any reasonable sample size.

I think anything in life is beatable.

It's all about money management... and don't get caught up in the heat of the moment.

But yeah... easily said than done.

That is a good way of defining value! But, back to beating Pinny. The lean gets there someway - somehow! It is necessary to be an originator to beat Pinny.

Another issue is almost every book moves off pinnacle within 10-40 seconds even on air

Years ago books were slow off the steam..Vegas 30 seconds or less off Pinnacle most cases

Real gamblers don't need to spend hours a day on a forum and post 20 times every day to prove their ability. Did the aforementioned Haralobos ever post here? I'll probably take you up on your offer to post EPL plays even though three months of picks proves absolutely nothing; post a reminder around early December.

Nothing to do with the forum. You said I'm missing out. I said pinny can't be beat on epl. Anyone with a clue does not consistently bet major leagues like the epl. Here and there sure.

Just make a thread and post all the games and tell us the results (predictions). I'm pretty sure it will be ugly.

I've done fairly well the last few years in EPL; as I said, remind me in early December and I'll make a thread.
