He was always going to opt out to get a long-term deal. Meaningless. He's not going anywhere.

Why would he stay in Miami?

If he wants to win titles.....Wade is done. Bosh is done.

They don't have a point guard.

What does James get by staying in Miami?

Chicago easily makes the most sense. Same thing goes for Melo

Plus there is this as well....

Rose (knee) is playing 5-on-5 again and one person who has watched him said he "looks like the old Derrick Rose

this, opting out is what Miami wanted so he takes less money and they sign another free agent. I think everyone knew he was gonna opt out just didnt expect it to happen this early. This gives Miami extra time to make moves He will without a doubt resign with Miami on a multiple year deal.

I agree with Sam Diamond. Wade is done, Bosh played poorly, they have PG, Battier retiring, Ray Allen 1 year older. Makes no sense to comeback UNLESS he's taking less money to sign another player, ie. Melo, or more likely Kyle Lowry.

I love Lowry on the Raps, he's the heart and soul of the team, i don't think the Raptors will be able to keep him. Lowry on the Heat would put them over the top, someone to guard Parker and handle the ball, gives Wade less work, Lebron less work and even more space, a legit PG that plays D and hits the big shots.

Miami does not have the roster for James

I have no idea who they could pick up

Even if Wade and bosh take pay cuts that does nothing but get James more money

don't underestimate Pat Riley JJ, I'm sure he has something up his sleeve, he always does. Hardaway, Mourning, Shaq, Lebron, the guy always finds a way to bring in the top players. I'm sure he's working behind the scenes right now to ensure Lebron stays. I would never bet against Riley.
