    *****World Cup Betting Guide****

    Book: Bet365
    Unit: $125
    Min Play: .5 Unit
    Max Play: 5 Unit
    Odds: American

    Intro
Hey guys, I'm using the forum to track my World Cup plays, the reason for the thread & as the title suggests without sounding too arrogant is to help my fellow peeps who don't follow the day-to-day ongoings of the domestic soccer calender & the European scale along with other factors. Most like to bet the World Cup for fun, granted no one likes losing money at the expense.

Most of you are Americans, soccer is way down the list for you guys I don't blame you for not being a book worm in soccer knowledge, statistics, trends etc, one thing we could agree on is the expert knowledge and experience in reading lines & odds you guys bring to the forum, having gambled and analyzed my fair share of World Cups I'm giving this a go, tail me track me troll me drink with me its all good, I want this thread to show discipline and to be clear cut so I can track accessibly & analyze my work.

Best of luck to you boys, I know England have no chance to lift the trophy! As a fan I will be supporting but as a degen my moneys going nowhere near them.

    Futures

    WORLD CUP OUTRIGHTS:-
    Germany +600 Wager 2U
    Uruguay +2800 Wager 2U

    TO REACH QUARTER FINAL:-
    Holland +250 Wager 1U
    Uruguay +138 Wager 1.5U
    Nigeria +600 Wager .5U
Germany -225 Wager to Win 1.5U

    TO REACH SEMI FINAL:-
    Uruguay +450 Wager .5U
    Germany +120 Wager 1.5U

    WINNER & TOP GOALSCORER:-
Germany & Robin Van Persie +20000 Wager .5U

    STAGE OF ELIMINATION:-
Russia (Group Stage) +150 Wager 1U
Chile (Group Stage) -120 Wager to Win 1U
Croatia (Group Stage) -138 Wager to Win 1U

    GROUP BETTING (WIN ONLY):-
    Holland +300 Wager .5U

    GROUP QUALIFICATION:-

    South Korea +150 Wager 1U

    TO FINISH BOTTOM OF GROUP:-
    Ghana +120 Wager 1U

    TOP TEAM GOALSCORER:-
England (Wayne Rooney) +275 Wager 1U
Holland (Robin Van Persie) +125 Wager 3U
Switzerland (Josip Drmic) +250 Wager 2U

    TOP GOALSCORER:-
Robin Van Persie (Holland) +2800 Wager .5U
Thomas Muller (Germany) +2800 Wager .5U

Germany are playing the best football out of all teams, they have a solid defense and an amazing attack, Uruguay love playing in Brazil, Cavani for me will perform at this world cup and support Suarez.

RVP should get 2-4 goals in this group if you think about Australia he might get 4 against them! Few more I could easily see 6-7 goals in this WC for him, he had a terrible season but hes too good not to score vs Australia's & Chile's defense this is why I've gone big for top team scorer for Holland no one in that team can covert at RVPs rate.

Drmic is excellent value I'm a little concerned about lack of tournament experience but I don't see anyone in that Switzerland team to challenge him, do not like Ghana's chances good value to finish bottom, Korea are a very underrated side and should surprise a few people.

I think Nigeria could shock a few people taking a punt for them to reach the QF, for me Chile & Croatia won't progress just my opinion on the basis of foundation within there respective roster.

If Holland win the group they might face Mexico or Cameroon I fancy them for that with +250 for them to reach the QF I'll take that.

I'll go into more depth for these choices later, I hope I've got some idea how the tournament will fare with my selections, BOL.

    Opening Game

    Brazil vs Croatia:-
Full Time Result (Brazil) -300 Wager to Win 2U
    Under 2.5 Goals +105 Wager 2U

Brazil will have to come out with all guns blazing for the opening game, Croatia will be a little tense parking the bus not wanting to concede too early, both teams will want a feel for each other, the pressure is on for Brazil its why I picture a 1-0 late winner for them they will snatch it I'm sure they will win I have 6 Units on them, relying on the away team to hold there own for the under hoping to secure the Brazil result and playing the under as bonus.

    Mexico vs Cameroon:-
Full Time Result (Mexico) +125 Wager 2U
    Over 2.5 Goals +150 1U
Goalscorer Anytime (Oribe Peralta) +175 Wager .5U

    Spain vs Holland:-
    Asian Handicap (Holland +.5) +110 Wager 3U
    Over 2.5 Goals +135 1U
Goalscorer Anytime (Robin Van Persie) Wager .5U

    Chile vs Australia:-
Full Time Result (Chile) -200 Wager to Win 1U
    Over 2.5 Goals +100 Wager 1U
Goalscorer Anytime (Arturo Vidal) +200 Wager .5U *Not taking if Vidal doesn't start, waiting for line ups.

    Analysis:-
I'm taking overs 1 unit for every opening game until I lose, every game seems open obviously I will lose some but I need some kind of idea how the teams look, world cup defense's this year suck so hoping to take advantage of that.

Mexico should score a few past this Cameroon team Hernandez might not play but from what I've heard this Peralta is a star, Holland is a value play I've gone big on them because of the revenge factor and being Spain's first game.

Half a unit on anytime goalscorers just for kicks, I like RVP at this world cup I think he will put his domestic troubles behind, Chile will stomp the aussies, unfortunately the men from down under are out of there depth...with the attacking pressure I expect a penalty and Vidal is the main guy, not bad for +200 against a mediocre defense (sorry aussie fans) again just to point out I am waiting for line ups to be confirmed, Vidal is a doubt but should start.

A little gutted by the bad refereeing in the Mexico match, they won 1-0 but had 2 legit goals ruled out would of been 3-0 bang hit the over, big play on the dutch paid well knew I should of gone pk but 3.3U from the AH can't be too greedy.

RVP top goalscorer was +2800 now +700.

    Analysis:-
Colombia have a similar style to Chile in which they like to keep the ball and break defense's down, even without Falcao they have incredible attacking power, there's only as much as Greece's backline could take this is why they should win tomorrow, Uruguay are the definition of what you call teamwork hardworking and do everything by the book, with or without Suarez Cavani should enjoy himself easy win.

Don't trust England, Pirlo scares me...Immobile & Balotelli scares me don't know who will win edging towards Italy take the pk might end draw but won't be surprised the sneaky Italians scraping it.

Japan look attractive BUT defense is awful, there going to get smashed tomorrow Ivory Coast will make sure of that, Drogba the target man Yaya might get one on a freekick Gervinho will have many chances, African team will cause huge waves of attack Japanese's fragile defense won't cope.

Loved all of your plays for today, except this one: Colombia vs Greece: Over 2.5 Goals +160 Wager 1U

and I was wondering the reason behind that bet...?

Colombia played 16 qualification matches to reach this World Cup and conceded only 13 goals. Greece played 10 and conceded only four goals and their last 11 qualification matches have seen two or less goals. I'm expecting a very defensive match (I absolutely hate the fking way Greeks play football - 90% 11 man defending and always waiting for an opponents mistake - they should be banned from international competitions lol).

I think he is just rolling the O2.5 in all games until he misses, the Mexico-Cameron doesn't count for obvious reasons.

Refereeing in first two games was a disgrace. FIFA are getting embarassed right now on the world stage. The linesman yesterday in Mexican game should be thrown out. At least they got the win.

    Good job in here.

I am a referee myself and I have to agree with you. The Japanese and the German are good referees but they just cant make those mistakes on a World Cup, I guess they werent paying attention in the 2 years preparation seminars for the World Cup. Many refs will go home after group stage and I guess these guys just booked a ticket, this is good for Pedro Proença if he doesnt penetrate up as well, cause I think he has a nice shot of being in the final.

Yeah thanks guys, Colombia was lucky 90min 3rd goal and it was James Rodriguez, great start in the day, happy I took the extra .5U for Cavani, still a long way to go for todays card.

I'm not going to comment on Uruguay.

Immobile isn't starting but I already placed the bet, he'll come on at 80 min and penetrate me over lol

As a England fan I'm happy either way.

As I stated before, its too fragile...Ivory Coast are too powerful, Gervinho running the flanks his agility alone will cause problems, the elephants attack in waves they are constant.

Japan like to keep the ball but once they lose it they look vulnerable, I'm not even going to comment on them defending set pieces, some of the size of those dudes from Africa compared to the boyz from blue samarui is unreal, I like Japan but they won't win this one barring a miracle from Yaya Toure, Gervinho, Drogba, Bony, Kalou, Doumbia etc can you see all of them flopping? There a proud nation just can't see Japan keeping a clean sheet.

Another point with the defense is they are good on the ball but without it they are slow when turning, they commit many fouls also which means free kicks which means Yaya coming at ya.

Nagamoto is a running machine, Uchida is a good wingback but can be found out defensively, Yoshida plays well for his nation but hes in a tough spot with Drogba will need some help but can't see it coming, look at the support from midfield who is there? Hasebe? Good player but him alone I don't think so, Endo only cares about the pass.

Great value with Ivory Coast & Gervinho.

with this being said is ivory coast -230 over 0.5 goals for game a dumb bet? Tons of juice but just need one defensive mistake by Japan and it scores. Japan over 0.5 for the game is -210. Which would be a better bet?

If Ivory Coast has all those elite players why would the line indicate it's a coin flip

Ivory Coast to win is +180
