    is he that good LT? i'm going to be honest I watched him almost beat boise a few times at Nevada and thought hes fast but throwing the ball hes avg nice arm strength but accuracy is not very good. Hes better than I thought he would be in the NFL but 100 mil? hes the dude I guess....LT you see him winning a super bowl? Not like frisco isn't a super bowl caliber team when they are healthy.

    Sure I could see a Super Bowl, 49ers probably had second best team in NFL last year, just had the terrible luck of being in same division as the best.

    By the way, $61 million is guaranteed, which is the biggest guaranteed contract amount in NFL history. The old record for most guaranteed money was $59 mill given to Matt Ryan.

    What a ridiculous contract. He deserves a contract but not this much especially with how he was throwing the ball last year in the NFC champ game. He threw one of the more comical picks in NFL history then on top of that if he puts the ball where its supposed to be at the end of the game they are in the superbowl, instead Sherman showed off his communications degree from Stanford to erin andrews.

    who cares, it's not your money. sf is still stacked. he is young and will get even better. guy has been to the superbowl and championship game. he got length, speed, and a cannon arm. accuracy and a better read of defenses will come in short time. he will be operating at optimal skillz in 2016

    He got overpaid. He's a decent QB but with that kind of money you are saying he is just as good as Aaron Rodgers or Philip Rivers. Which is a joke. Kap doesn't make players better. He has to be getting paid off potential. What kind of contract does Russell Wilson get?

    He was nice enough to only take a $12 Mil signing bonus to give the Niners some ability to extend other players.

    Other QB's get two to three times that.

    Above average QB's get paid very well in the NFL. He's only getting $7M more in guaranteed money than Cutler did so I don't have a huge issue with the contract.

    Um did anybody see how Payton Manning fared against the Seahawk defense? Kap almost beat them with his legs and arm AT SEATTLE. I think he is underrated, he's very young and only gonna improve. I don't know how you can't pay the man his money.

    I agree, teams absolutely need a decent QB or they are doomed to mediocrity, so they have to overpay them in many cases. Gabbert isn't going to take a team to the playoffs.
