I live here... and I wonder why people even go to Detroit for? My best friend is a Detroit cop and has been on the force for 12+ years now. He said if you want to party... go to another city. Not worth being dead over entertainment. Anything can happen.

I hate when my friends go... hey you wanna go down to Detroit and hang???

actually real estate in downtown is booming like crazy right now.. a lot of the younger people that came in when times were bad are actually getting priced out now..

Downtown is ghetto? How? Downtown is pretty nice. I am very critical about food. So I yet to eat at any place in America that blew my mind away.

Vincenta garage is pretty good for food.

    Slows bbq pretty good.

    Mexicantown if you want mexican

Cadieux cafe for a unique atmosphere

If you're downtown and you're not too scared go look at the Heidelberg project or the 8 mile wall. The wall is sweet. I forget exactly where its at.

Not sure what type of cousine you're looking for. If you want Arabic, drive to east dearborn about 10 min from downtown. If you want something fast, Albasha on Warren and Wyoming I think? If you want a more sit down Lapita is good and so is Al Amir. You won't find better Arabic food in the country probably. As long as you're in dearborn you can go to the henry ford estate, very nice views, water, a huge mansion, free to walk around outside and look.

If you want a buffet, Fuji buffet (Madison Heights I think), about 30 min from downtown is the best asian buffet in michigan if you like shashimi and sushi.

Nobel Fish is a cool little market with amazing sushi. Mostly take out.

Royal Oak and Birmingham are two outskirt cities that are pretty much the best part of metro detroit in terms of classiness, bars, etc. Two nice rich cities. Very nice if you have your girl and you want to walk around on a Sunday. It's pretty nice day today.

If you want to see lakes and beautiful homes, the West side (West bloomfield, Bloomfield Hills). Two of the richest cities in America.

    Fuk the zoo
