Vinny Del Negro is smiling somewhere......

he led the Clips to the conf semis 2 years ago. Doc did not better than that this year. it remains to be seen if they can improve under Doc. we'll see..

to date in Clips history they have never made the conf finals.

Its crazy how all these series come down to one play. The Clips get the call last game and have momentum tonight and they are moving on. At worst a game seven. Toronto one play away from the Nets not being around to cry about their one play. The Heat were the better team by far but last year spurs handed them the series with one game six play. Dallas one game 3 play. Any team that didnt play Miami could be moving on with one referee whistle. I dont remember a playoff season this tight before.

btw Im not a Clips fan but they were definitely rattled by all the BS. You either say they got a raw deal and would have won or you say champions are mentally tough and persevere during the BS.

Don't mix apples and oranges here. Del Negro sucked then and sucks today. Rivers might be as bad, it's still in the air. He wasn't gifted the top talent this time as before.

Del Negro got the job because one Jew owner needed a favor from a good buddy that also happened to be a Jew owner. Vinny stretched it and got paid for as long as he could. But he's aweful.

    Just how the cookie crumbles

Scott Brooks going into game 6 against Grizz had his job on the line, now the guy might win the finals when he's the worst coach left. Took Perkins getting 4 fouls to realize the guy is a bum and that Adams deserves the majority minutes at the 5 spot.

Still lost as to why he blackballs Lamb but he's a young kid. I'm not so sure Thabo is better though truthfully, everyone talks about his D but Lamb is no slouch

I dont know about the gifted talent argument. I think there are 3 types of NBA coaches. You have the ones out there for a paycheck, collecting the losses on their record doomed to stigmatize them against any future real hires... the rebuilding year coaches who have no chance of being there after the draft pick and star player that follows.

You have the coaches hired to give credibility to the team and get to the playoffs. Then you have the closers. The coaches that step in when the team is established, gets a big contract, and signals the team is one of the 4-5 that are going for the ring. Free agents willing to take pay cuts follow. Rivers, Pop, Jackson, Thibs and Larry Brown come to mind. Maybe Carlisle and Karl are 2nd tier?

So according to your take, if/when Rivers doesn't win it all in the next two years his stock should fall. I'm thinking that's his current point guards peak window.

Chris Paul in game 5 trying to throw up a 3/4 court 3 as he thought Thunder were coming to foul him to get one extra free throw (meaningless) and he ended up turning the ball over... which lead the the R Jackson shit

Clippers hahaha! Still dumb, will always be dumbfuks.

Yes, he needs to be perceived as overachieving with his team. Thibs is another. It's pretty crazy how a coach can become an asset just by being in the news. Napier plays out of his mind for Uconn and coach Kevin Ollie, who couldn't even get a decent deal taking over a team that couldn't even compete for anything the year before, is suddenly qualified to coach the Los Angeles Lakers which includes players the same age as him and a lot more money to pay people to tell them how great they are.
