ive found that its best to do your own homework and then use other peoples plays/leans to add to your confidence level on a certain play or maybe pass on a play if someone you respect is on the other side...

The angle that i have found that works best for me in MLB is to take a pitcher who you consider a great pitcher and then bet on him coming off a bad start..

the great pitchers are usually especially good coming off a rough outing.

True. But even in the sub forum not many guys bother to give write-ups which is a shame.

I think its important to watch baseball. Sometimes stats can be misleading.
If i am unsure about a certain starting pitchers stuff i will go that teams website and watch the short video clips of that pitcher...see what kind of velocity he has , how sharp his curveball is etc...just like i am scouting him.

I use baseballpress.com to for a quick reference on bullpen usage so i know if a team will likely be able to throw their top bullpen guys that night. I also use this site to find out the starting line-ups. They seem to be the fastest to post these.

I like to look at the expanded standings on Espn.com and see what teams home and away records are, i look and see what their records are against RHP and LHP's.

Also look to see what teams are hot and which teams are not. I never like to bet on a team on a long losing streak as losing is contagious.

There is a lot that goes into and you have to use trial and error.

Personally what i do is keep a list of all my favorite pitchers to bet on... and i look for these pitchers in favorable matchups... some of these guys would be on anybodys top 10 pitchers list and some of the others fly under the radar and i can get a better price on.

The one guy who is a great pitcher who i hardly ever bet on is Justin verlander he is always over priced.

    Tim Hudson
    Jordan Lyles
    Danny Duffy
    Zach Greinke
    Clayton Kershaw
    Koehler w/the Marlins
    Johnny Cueto
    Massario Tanaka
    Yu Darvish
    Kuroda w/Yankees
    Felix Hernandez
    Iwakuma w/Marlins
    Cole Hamels
    Jorge De La Rosa
    Jose Fernandez @home only
    Sonny Gray
    Scott Kazmir
    Clayton Richards
    Wily Peralta

these are the pitchers currently in my stable

i used to be high on Chris Archer but i have written him off for now
and i will never bet Jose Fernandez on the road again.

    Correct.
Season long threads are an absolute waste of time.
You're only as good as your last bet, who gives a fukk how many air units you list in a thread?

Everyone reads and sees the same information everyday.
The more MLB games you watch daily, the better edge you have.
That is the best advice you will get.
MLB is by far the most consistent and easiest sport to profit in with a decent sized bank roll, just takes a lot of dedication and you have to actually enjoy watching it.

99% of the ppl keeping threads aren't truthful JJ.
    It's all a waste.
Spreadsheets with edits and deletes, fake air unit plays when you're losing.
    Who gives a shit?
Bet a game and win it, all that matters.

Wow. Could you get any dumber?

Unreal. Guy asks for advice, and 2/3rds of the posts are from BB and Benny. That's PT in a nutshell for you.

"Who cares about season threads and record keeping? They're all liars anyway!" LOL. Spoken like someone who doesn't want any part of someone tracking his actual record for fear of imminent fraud detection.
