of the remaining 27 players, the short stacks must be thrilled with the 20k, while the chip leaders must be steaming. i hope this scumbag cheater rots in prison.

It's actually pretty funny and a horrible decision by the courts.

If a casino has to take a massive hit like that for one person in a 1,000+ player tournament, there is no incentive for them to have those kind of tournaments anymore.
It's impossible to police that many players while breaking tables.

I can see chopping the money with the remaining players, but having to pay all 1,000+ entrants is insane.

they didnt. only 1 guy cheated, but due to the fraudulent chips, they had to cancel the tourney. they paid out the prize pool to the remaining players.

Well they benefited from the counterfeit chips the one guy was dumping. So their high stacks were fattened with counterfeit chips if they were seating at the same table with the cheater.

the players that sat at his table had no knowledge that some of his chips were fake. this is far from collusion. its 1 fukkbag who cant play poker and needed to cheat to cash.

Every one in Jersey knows just to throw stuff you don't want into the Ocean... clearly not a local. Not sure how he thought chips would flush down the toilet lol.

Ok, something smells fishy in this matter...

Doesn't Borgata have it's own unique poker chips? If that's the case, how did this player get access to their chips?

the scumbag added fake borgata chips to his stack. i assume after breaks and meals he would discretely add them to puff up his chip count. counterfeit chips are basically the same as counterfeit cash...you can buy them or make them.

Common knowledge alibaba will duplicate any chip. So if no RFD in chip it's easy to make a set.

Casinos are now cracking down, there was a guy a few weeks after the tournament that pocketed a 25k chip in a palm beach tournament. He is now banned from WSOP and they didn't pay him prize money.

The bigger problems the tournament series these places have with 20, 30 , even 50 events. There are often extra chips found in a tournament during color up. They just don't talk about it.

Let's say Someone runs deep in event 12 and goes all in for 1 million and Gets an all in call for less, let's say 600-700k The guy with less (covered) can discreetly put a couple high denomination chips in their hand during the card run out. If they win the hand they just place the chips back in stack when they are counting it out for opponent to pay. If they lose those chips never leave the guys palm or he places them in pocket and he now has a few big chips (5k or higher ) to discreetly slide into another event at an earlier point when big chips have more value. Happens often and very hard to watch. Cameras are virtual non existent in big poker tourneys

Alibaba may go public they are as big as Facebook . Enormous company . There are people in America will just buy Alibaba merchandise in bulk and then sell it individually on eBay and that is how they make their entire living
