Men The Master? https://groups.google.com/forum/?hl=...er/Xp3IyB_8_ts (starts with the Topset72 comment) The old rec.gambling.poker board had some fun stuff on it.

Anyway, glad they caught this. It happened in a low buyin event so maybe this was some sort of trial run.

Looks like it's going to be a freeroll for all players, what a mess. I've played there 2 times for this series and hated the way they ran it but the plo cash games were very good

Cant remember last time I played a live tourny at Borgata, their tourny chips must be real mickey mouse if it took almost to the final table to catch on here. Their live game chips would be almost impossible to duplicate, they are very unique. Those that have played there know exactly what im talking about.

the gold seal around the white middle is magnetic, the chips almost stick together

Do they use the same tournaments chips for every tournament? You could swipe a few from a crappy tournament then break them out of your pocket for the big one. People who did this will almost certainly be caught.

No they only use these for the main event, they are very unique.

How does one sneak in 200 5k chips?

    Inside job

Borgata shady, so many things have went down in that poker room, including huge gambling ring bust several years back.

My home game chips are better lol. I'm color blind and a lot of their tourney chips looked like the same color to me.

That link is a great find GUMMO. The event was low buy in like you said (500+60) but it had over 4800 runners so the prize pool was almost 250k. The chips are horrible and don't even look like the real ones. This is going to take a long time to sort out. Rumor has it they are looking at a group of Colombians or Vietnamese, but we will see.

Unreal! No fuk'in ethics even in poker anymore! Fuk'ers gotta cheat the game instead of letting their skills do the talk'in. Jay is right though, how do you not catch this shit with all the fuk'in cameras and pit bosses walk'in around. Something always fuk'in stinks in Jersey, if its not shady ass Gov. Christie closing bridges, it's rigged fuk'in casinos!

Christian Lusardi Arrested in Connection with Borgata Chip Scandal

Christian Lusardi from a previous mugshot, (Photo from Faytteville Police)

Christian Lusardi, 42, was arrested in Atlantic City in connection with the Borgata chip cheating scandal. According to a report by the AP, investigators discovered an additional $2.7 million in counterfeit chips that clogged the pipes of his hotel room at Harrah’s resort.
The Borgata posted a statement on their blog that confirmed the New Jersey State Police Casino Gaming Bureau has apprehend a suspect but the investigation was ongoing. “Borgata will continue to work with the DGE and the State Police until this matter is concluded and a final order is issued by the DGE concerning the resolution of Event 1.”
Lusardi was taken into custody on charges of theft and rigging a public contest. He reportedly cashed in the event for $6,814 and was the Day 1C chip leader. Lusardi has three previous cashes from Atlantic City stemming back to 2008.
This seems to coincide with some mysterious posts that surfaced on Two Plus Two just past midnight on Friday morning. “justbecauseican” – a first time poster – claimed in his first post that the responsible party would be arrested on Monday and that the counterfeit chips were “never supposed to be extra chips added. It was more of a ‘set someone up’ kinda thing.”
His second post claimed that he was the responsible party and then his third post claimed he was not guilty for the cheating, but was responsible.
Then he posted, “I flushed the rest down the toilet. Why the toilet? I don’t know. If Harrah’s had better plumbing I may not be posting this right now.”

More than 2,100 people who played in a poker tournament where fake chips were discovered will see a refund from Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.
After a three-month investigation, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement issued an order Monday, allowing $1.7 million in prize money and refunds to be distributed to almost half of the people who entered the January contest.
The investigation found that Borgata properly monitored the tournament and was not at fault.
