    Why is Virginia not a #1 Seed?

    If they beat Duke today (I think they will) only losses @GB, @ MD, @ Duke, @ Tenn, vs Wisconsin, and vs VCU. They should at least be in the conversation.

    Blew out Syracuse, lost by 4 to Duke, blowout vs UNC, 2 wins vs Pitt (neither of which Pitt scored over 48). I don't know how ESPN can give them flak. When they have gotten the opportunity they have gotten the job done.

    Bottom line is that the winner of the Mich/Mich St game is just a better team than Virginia, and the everyone knows it. IMO, both are better teams than Virginia, and while none of them may get a #1, there is no way Virginia gets it over the Big ten champ. If I had a vote, I'd give Louisville the 4th #1, but they may end up a #3 and that would be a sham. You cant look me in the eye and say Virginia or Villanova is better than Lousville.

    Too much competition for one spot, since Florida, Arizona and Wichita State are definitely one-seeds no matter what. If Michigan wins today, they probably get the last one-seed. If Michigan loses, then Kansas and Villanova are probably still ahead of Virginia in the pecking order.

    I think they are in the conversation, but let's face it... there are 3 #1 seeds and the fourth will back-in to the spot.

    This is blown way out of proportion whether the fourth team is a #1 or #2. None of them really 'deserve' it.

    I just hope whoever it is we finally see a #16 seed upset!

    Make no mistake, the loss to Tenn was BAD. Also Green bay not making the field doesn't help.

    I suppose being a 1 or 2 doesn't make too much of a difference. What matters is who is seeded around them.

    Very good point. I don't know why they aren't being mentioned either. Why do we need a Big 10 team represented? MSU doesnt have a #1 seed resume, Ohio St is terrible and can't score, Wisconsin is Wisconsin, Iowa is overrated, and Michigan is probably the only team here that you can argue for a #1 spot.

    I would give Louisville the #1 over Virginia...the way they have been playing lately is down right scary.

    After Virginia gets done beating duke, and sparty beats wolverines, then I think UVA deserves 1 seed. Only question is will the selection committee even bother waiting for the result of the big10 championship game.
