Pitt and UNC Friday 2:00 Est Discussion

    Set the line...

    UNC -3.5?

I'm actually more interested in what the total opens at, I think there will be alot of points scored

I'd lean Pitt. Line seems about right. Pitt has under-achieved all year. UNC has over-achieved all year.

I think people will pound UNC as well, but I don't think it is the wrong play necessarily

I think Pitt over-achieved the beginning of the yea and got over-rated. They did much better than was expected, it was supposed to be a rebuilding year.

they came back to earth in the 2nd half of conference play.

they've still yet to beat a good team

Lines not posted for me yet, but at pk I'll take unc all the way, no guarantee, but taking Pitt at pk would b the wrong play.

It is PK everywhere so shouldn't vary by much.

this is definitely a pitt line but them losing to every good team who they played has to be a concern. probably a pass for me

Line should've opened at least at +2. This is a Pitt line.

Then again, yesterday was a West Virginia line and they got curb-stomped by Texas anyway.

You still lean over here, Arch?

I think Pitt is a bad matchup for UNC.

They can slow the game down and have the size to matchup with UNC's forwards.

Patterson seems to be getting healthy, which makes a big difference.

UNC plays country club basketball. They don't want to roll in the mud with Pitt.

Now with that being said, Pitt hasn't beaten anyone this year.

No way on the country club thing. I hear you with Pitt's slow grind it out muck it up style but outside of Paige, UNC relies heavily on their great athleticism with guys like McAdoo, Johnson, and Tokoto in the frontcourt. Those guys aren't greatly skilled but they certainly are gifted athletically.

Zanna will struggle vs the UNC size and athleticism

as Zanna goes, so does Pitt. He actually matters more than Patterson at this stage of the game

and the reason Pitt can beat so many mediocre teams and lose to EVERY good team, is because the good teams have bigs that can contain Zanna without too much trouble

he is still pretty much a raw one trick nigerian pony

unc is the consensus favorite at over 70% according to covers (whatever that means).

but so were the long horns last night, as no coin has mentioned.

got some unc ml @ -115 so i'm happy with that number.

UNC is always gifted athletically. That goes without saying. They just don't fare well in grinding, half-court style games. If Pitt can dictate the tempo, they have a chance.

Well that, plus they don't have a take-charge point or a strong in-game coach.

Pitt will get back on D and not allow UNC to get out in transition then muck up the game. 140 looks crazy to me so UNC probably runs all over them and it's in the 80's.

75-71...48 FT's and 27 turnovers. You would think Pitt would be able to slow it down a bit this time around, who knows. Refs probably won't do them any favors down there.

UNC doesn't usually care much about the ACC tourney, which Roy Williams has termed "a big ole cocktail party". I am a UNC fan, but I would bet Pitt (if I was betting the game).
