Banned for stupidity. Conference RPI is too weak for any of the top tier teams here to probably get better than a #3.

Cincy should be DQ'ed for struggling against Rutgers while L'Ville whooped ass. We all know who the number 1 team is in that conference at this point. L'Ville ready to roll.

I take back my banned for stupidity and shift to banned for lack of explanation. Had no idea about this and the OP explains about as much as telling someone bananas jump.

WAIT, why doesn't Louisville get the top seed? Isn't the second tiebreaker to go down the standings to see how the tied teams did against each team until the tie so broken?

Lol Ul win's conference because of that, but tourney seeding is based on coin flip in this situation

That doesn't explain WHY it went to a coinfliop. I thought the only way Cincinnati could have won the tiebreaker was if Memphis finished third.

the way that I understand it for this it only goes to overall record, conf record, since they were tied third breaker is a coinflip

No first tiebreak is head-to-head, second tiebreak is going down standings, third is coin flip.

A HA, I see. I was assuming SMU would be considered the third place team since they are the three-seed, but I see now that how the tiebreaker works is it looks at Louisville's and Cincinnati's records vs. all three teams that finished tied for third (SMU, UConn, Memphis), and both teams went 4-2. Damn.

    Thanks

Yeah now that I reread it, it makes perfect sense. They break all ties going top to bottom, meaning that SMU is not really determined to be the third seed until the first two seeds are set. So first thing is Louisville and Cincy split head-to-head, they both went 4-2 vs. the three teams tied for third and they both went undefeated vs. the rest of the conference, Ergo, coin flip.

THEN, after that is determined, SMU, UConn and Memphis are seeded 3-4-5 because SMU went 3-1 vs. the other two teams, Conn went 2-2 and Memphis went 1-3.

ok got it now. What I didn't get was why SMU was not seeded but that makes sense

Gotta feel bad for the guys that had futures on Louisville winning AAC. 5 Dimes and BOL are among the books that explicitly stated in the rules that in the event of a tie, the #1 seed in the AAC Tournament would be considered the winner.

It was like flipping a coin for money.

Huh? They both split the regular season title.
The coin toss was just to determine the seeding.
