    Is Beating the closer Overrated?

A lot of guys of this forum get more excited about beating a closer than they do about actually winning a bet.

Just how important is "beating the closer" ?

Just pick winners and Bet the best available line at that moment

i think its just important to not get the worst of it when it comes to the available lines throughout the day.
15 years ago, you would see the final closing # come in a few minutes after tip/kick etc....beating that # seemed to hit at 60%+ rate but thats all changed now with the internet.

not sure i agree with that.....so a day trader should just execute at the best bid/offer whenever, rather then waiting for the stock to drop from 21 to 20 if he thinks its overvalued?

Its pot luck trying to beat the closer

Sometimes your line moves against you and sometimes it does not

Very few guys have ability to know how line will go and how public will bet
