Pacers just robbed the Sixers in the Turner-Granger trade. What was Philly thinking??

Turner has showed signs of being the All-Star Sixers thought they had when they drafted him.
I'm wondering why they do this move for a washed up Granger?
Turner is young, doesn't have a big contract. It's not much of a salary dump is it? Granger on the books for 14 mill this year then he's done.
This move makes no sense for the Sixers.

Hard to believe the massive decline of Granger from all his injuries. Guy averaged 25 pts a game a few years back.

Sick steal here for the Pacers. Bird making the perfect move for his team to give them that upgrade they needed to beat the Heat this year (Which they will).

Pacers probably should send the Sizers a "We owe you one" text at the end of the season after this move.

Turner was a free agent after this season also. I guess since they aren't going anywhere but still WTF?
They probably could have gotten something way better than Danny Fukkin Granger in this spot.

I felt bad for him watching a few games lately.
That used to be HIS TEAM.
Now he's clueless out there and doesn't have the athleticism to be a solid contributor.
Hard to believe his Brandon Roy-esk crumble because of injuries.

not sold on evan turner. he shoots like 20 times a game and averages 17 points on a dreadful team.

Spot on. It's not hard to look like a promising young player when you're the only option on the team. ET is nothing more than a solid player in this league... Definitely not a star in the making.

so what does that mean? he's still a lot fukking better than danny granger, i think he'll fit in perfectly with this offense at the point forward role

    amazing move by the pacers

LOL...Nonsense...Granger is a good fit for that team going into next year...semi veteran leadership on a squad that sorely needs it...Turner now has no excuse and will have to step up immediately and prove the sixers were simply a bad team...the trade makes sense for both teams...and the sixers are likely getting a guard in the draft anyway...

Philly is tanking, probably a better move to lose more games. Philly is going to build with Carter Williams, Noel and their 2 lottery picks they'll get (they have the pelicans pick too).

No space for Evan Turner there and Granger is off the books next year.

It basically means I don't think getting ET for Granger is a "steal". If you compare the two based on advanced stats how much better is ET than Granger? Not a whole lot. He has upside potential bc he is younger and he is also more durable, but he's not exactly an efficient offensive weapon and he plays very little D...

Turner is garbage. Has one of the worst shots in the NBA, bad move by indi here, could of used granger off the bench.

I'll take Evan Turner and his 15 pts from the bench any day over the over hyped bum Danny Granger.

Will the Sixers even have granger play this year? Or just cut him? Evan Turner has never lived up to the 2nd pick and the Sixers weren't going to pay him next year. Sixers are just having a fire sale.

He's a free agent and the Sixers are thinking about buying him out as we speak. Good call.

Great move by both teams. Sixers get a 2nd rounder and also get additional salary to dump. They also help their chances of losing more the rest of the season.

If Evan Turner is showing signs of an all star then Aaron Afflalo must be playing like MJ this season.

Clips need a big man and now have two open spots to fill since they let Vujacic and Mullins go.

    Benny,

Turner never fit in here. His game is more drive to the basket and with this Sixers team, that wasn't going to work. They are stock piling draft pics & are hooping Noel / carter Williams are the real deal. We shall see

I still think they could have gotten something for him, instead of nothing. They are going to buyout Granger so basically it was a money dump.
I just think Turner isn't that bad a player.

Which explains why the Sixers got an expiring contract who will likely be bought out.
