Do the Yankees have the worst infield in baseball?

    Teixeira
    Brian Roberts
    Derek Jeter
    Kelly Johnson

...it's possible. Some guy on rotoexperts on Sirius thinks so.

Dont know what the Astros have...

i think i'd rather seen Nunez or Ryan start at 2B over Roberts.

Yeah as far MLB teams go defensively I cant think of a worse infield...

The bandbox of a field can't hold a fly ball and the infield will be a sieve for grounders. Their pitching staff are all question marks (e.g. CC's weight, Kuroda's age, Tanaka translating to MLB, how the pen will hold up w/ the retirement of Mariano).

Yes their OF can hit and McCann is a great offensive upgrade at catcher but I'm not optimistic about the Yanks chances.

not true. Jeter is good but can he last 182 games?

hes the type of dude in MLB that Kevin Garnett is in NBA.

If he could skip the regular season and just play in the playoffs he would be tremondous.

    gotta keep him healthy

They're going to suck this season. Will be lucky to finish 3rd in the division. 4th or 5th more likely.

This might be the worst infield ever. Jester is a bum. Texiera sucks. Kelly Johnson is shit. Roberts is a juicer off the juice. Garbage. Yanks will be looking up from the basement.

maybe so. Would be a great way for Jeter to end his career with 1 last ring.

They have the horses. Just gotta stay healthy. Beltran was a great addition, he is always good in the playoffs .. just gotta get there.

If you need more, here it is. Jeter is well past his prime and not even considered a good player anymore. He is hobbled and elderly and has the potential to embarrass himself this year. That's if he can play more than 17 games. Texeira is another injury waiting to happen as he has readily admitted that he will probably feel stiffness/pain in his wrist through the whole year. That leaves Brian Roberts who on his last 4 years in the league has hit about .240 with an avg of 2-3 homers a year. Missed time for injury as well. Kelly Johnson (who may end up being the yanks best player in the infield) hits for shit when it comes to average. A little pop and will get u 50-60 RBI a year. Has a good glove also. If Kelly Johnson has the potential to be your teams best infielder I would say the infield in question is one hurting unit. Does that sound better DS??

man that AL East is going to be one competitive division!

there so much parity in MLB this season its going to be fun to watch

did they add another wild card? or is still going to be 5 teams in NL and 5 teams in the AL in the playoffs?

Don't know what you're looking at. Just an aging team of washed up stains with no young talent.
To think they are going to contend this year, you just have to be a Yanks fan to believe that.
    .500 team.

Yankees will get off to a fast start. After that it will be up to Cashman to keep it together. He failed in doing that last year.

What does that even mean? If they get off to a fast start (Which they won't) then why the hell would Cashman have to do anything to "keep it together"...?

they will lead the league in unsold seats around the dugouts as usual. if everything falls into place they will end up 79-83. but jeter, texeira, roberts are all so injury prone that record is optimistic. i do know that roberts better start running out to take relays from the weakest arm in MLB in jacoby ellsbury. teams are going to be running like crazy on him since he is moving to a more spacious center field. yankee fans should pay attention to this glaring weakness in the outfield.
