Think about this. Saban and Alabama is deathly afraid to play a competitive non-con opponent, especially from the Pac 12 or Big 12. Look what OU did to them last season, and please do not give me that "Alabama didn't care" crap.

Alabama didn't care about the OU game.

The SEC runs college football and Alabama is consistently the number 1 or number 2 team in the SEC.

Aug. 30 West Virginia Atlanta, Georgia
Sept. 6 Florida Atlantic Bryant-Denny Stadium
Sept. 13 Southern Miss Bryant-Denny Stadium
    Sept. 20 *Florida Bryant-Denny Stadium
Oct. 4 *at Ole Miss Oxford, Mississippi
Oct. 11 *at Arkansas Fayetteville, Arkansas
    Oct. 18 *Texas A&M Bryant-Denny Stadium
Oct. 25 *at Tennessee Knoxville, Tennessee
Nov. 8 *at LSU Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Nov. 15 *Mississippi State Bryant-Denny Stadium
Nov. 22 Western Carolina Bryant-Denny Stadium
    Nov. 29 *Auburn Bryant-Denny Stadium

Only 4 road games. WV isn't what they use to be. Alabama can get by on name and a SEC schedule now. No need to schedule tough OOC games...even though I think it's weak.

First, for all of you SEC homers, the SEC is NOT the toughest conference any more. The PAC 12 has passed them up and left the SEC in the dust. Next, with the SOS playing a much stronger part in the new 4 team playoff format, and many of the panel who will choose the top four teams in the nation coming from the West, Alabama is in real trouble. I can easily see them having to play a team like Oregon, a team that would easily crush them, because Saban's fat, lazy players could not keep up with Oregon's offense. If the new rule about waiting 10 seconds before the offense can sanp the ball does NOT pass (and right now, it is likely to fail), Saban and Alabama are in for a tough post season, if they can get past LSU, their only tough game on their schedule. Oregon could easily defeat any SEC team. Washington, Stanford, UCLA, and USC could also defeat any SEC team on a neutral site. You Alabama homers just cannot admiot that OU icked the crap out of you last season. Saban wanted that game badly because of the fiasco with Utah, but once again, he got it kicked out of him by a team that actually had some good players.

I'll have what you're smoking. SEC is still the best conference by a fairly wide margin, Pac-12 MIGHT be second best, but they are not really that close. Only Pac-12 teams that could compete with the Top SEC teams are Stanford and MAYBE USC with the right guidance because those two teams actually play defense. The rest of the Pac-12 with their gimmicky offenses and no defense cannot shine the shoes of the top SEC teams.

Oregon continually gets smashed by Stanford.

Alabama is a better version of Stanford.

    The SEC owns College Football.

I like USC, but to say the Pac-12 is the best conference in football is ridiculous.

QH you have no basis for this argument. Pac number 2 but by a bit. Not saying that Bama does have a weak schedule but where was the Pac in the National Championship game? The Pac is a lot better and Saban doesn't like it that it why he tried the 10 for Defense rule but the SEC is the best
