    yeah I mean if you want to rate him among with EVERY boy that ever had a dream of being Michael Jordan I think Kobe prob would get the highest score or getting the most close right?

    I mean only 1 out of 100k make it that far.

    he will join the HOF ranks with Michael and a few hundred others.

    Lotta ways to look at it, rings, swag, similarity in playing style, competitiveness, if you put everything together basketball wise, IMO Id give him about a 7 as being similar.

    Kobe passed him. Before his injuries he was playing at a much higher level than mj at this point in his career.

    At this point in mj career he was backing up rip hamilton.

    Longevity means a ton to me when it comes to all time greats. Which is why I also value Robertson's and jabaar careers so much.

    Koby couldn't carry MJ's jock. On the court, historically, or currently...financially. Jordan hasn't played in years and he wouldn't get out of bed for what Koby has in his bank account. Also, when it comes to handling the marriage, and the side action, Jordan has forgotten more than Koby will ever know. Always go with the original, not the wannabee, not the sheep.

    Kobe has no business being mentioned in the same breath as Jordan....the comparisons the media created based on hype. His footwork and mannerism were stolen from Jordan. The media grafted Kobe's head onto Jordan's shoulders because they needed a replacement after the lockout. Then they used Jordan's name to sell Kobe Bryant's game which could not match up with Michael's....

    Lebron and now Durant will show the world why Kobe was so overrated...Lebron has surpassed Kobe, and Durant will eventually...

    prime is considered mid-20s to early 30s. so looking at pippen from 26-32... he avg 20.2 ppg. shaq from 26-32 avg 22.9ppg. so their numbers aren't as far off as you claim.

    pippen was named to nba all-defensive 1st team for 8 times. shaq? not once. both of course named as top 50 greatest of all time.

    I was reading a thread the other day about Kobe had retired. There were some tears shed and condolences handed out. But the reports proved to be premature, as it is now understood Kobe will keep making basket shots beyond this season. Whew! Am I right? It was a pretty neat little thread though, you should all check it out.

    you simply can not compare the two.

    Different eras, different players, different referees, different offenses, different defenses.

    The only thing fair is to compare a player to his contemporary counterpart. Maybe you can do a LeBraon / Kobe comparison, but even then its not really fair because of the age difference.

    Kobe against Shaq would be the best option maybe
