Chris Johnson Likely to be Released by Titans

He'll probably find another job fairly quickly, but still a mystery whether or not he seemingly lost his skills overnight or was just half-assing it on the field the last few years.

He was just half assing it. He was on a sub-par team, he basically was the whole team's offense, and as long as he kept his job he continued to get a paycheck.

He's still got some in the tank. I read an article about him the other day and he's upset that he's not being used properly. He should be done getting any big money though, he's only got a couple more years of that speed. I bet he either goes to Dallas, Oakland or Miami. None of those will resurrect his career though.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_J...eer_statistics

Rush + Rec yards and TDs last 3 years...

    2011- 1465 yds 4 TDs
    2012- 1462 yds 6 TDs
    2013- 1422 yds 10 TDs

Not elite stats like his 1st 3 seasons but still pretty darn good. Id take him in a second on my team. You're gonna get 90 yards and half a TD a game from him, although he doesn't put it up in a consistant way.

He will always be my example of why you dont pay a running back big money. AP might be the only RB that warrants huge money.

Have to agree. Would rather spend the big bucks on O Lineman and less on running backs. Look at what Denver and NE has done through the years with lower paid backs. A good running game usually starts up front.

We only recognize great running backs when they play for good teams. Never a good running back on a bad team.

always a boom bust RB so his numbers will naturally fluctuate(could either be a 1 yd run or a 40 yard run)
would like to see him on a team like the colts to utilize him in the passing game could resurrect his career like reggie bush

Why are people surprised that a RB reliant on breaking big runs with incredible speed slumped at age 27-28 because he lost half a step? That's what's supposed to happen. RBs have short lifespans and any RB who doesn't lose some burst after that many carries is an exception. AP is a freak and a future HOFer

Mixed in with Stacy would be sick on the turf, Lambs can't afford him tho and they have capable backs..

He won't last too any days on the open market. He's still better than most backs out here when he has the right O-line and scheme in front of him.

He wouldn't want to be in a back up role. He might consider Patriots and play with Brady and be in contention every year.

Exactly running back position doesn't deserve big money, although they do get hit hard on every other play.

If there's one thing the Pats don't need, it's a RB. They've got 3 good ones already.

I might be wrong but I think he'll just go to the team that pays him the most. Doubt he'll sacrifice dollars for a better chance at winning a championship.

I think he will go for the money and there are a number of teams that don't even have a decent running back

He's 29 early next season, any team that signs him to a big money deal is going to get burned. A nice two year deal somewhere would be perfect. You suck out probably the last couple really productive years from him. Raiders.

That doesn't explain Adrian Peterson. How many playoff games has he won?

Yep. Whoever signs CJ is going to overpay. I can't remember the last time a free agent RB was great value.

They looked like geniuses getting rid of Richardson.

They will probably roll with Baker and draftee.
