    Sportsbook Hockey rules question???

Just a quick question here. Anyone know why sportsbooks include ot in wagers placed in US hockey lines but not in international hockey lines.

Here is an excerpt from 5dimes explaining:

Overtime is included in NHL, NCAA, and all other North American Leagues. In the NHL, the winner in overtime or shootout is credited with a goal. This goal counts towards the final score for grading purposes.
The final score in hockey for international games and all leagues outside of North America do NOT include overtime. Overtime and shoot-outs do not count unless the wagering option (OUTRIGHT) or (ADVANCES) is listed.

Just wondering why is OT included in US Matches but not international matches.??

Only difference I know in khl and international rules is that in shootouts after 3 shooters you can reuse the same shooters again. That is the only difference in khl and nhl regular season OT. Wagering side I have no idea, maybe that is why it's factored in. The nhl you can't reuse unless you go through the entire line up.

Because in European Hockey, bets on totals will be settled after the game is officially over (three full periods), overtime and shootout goals are not included in the full game total.

Thanks Russian.. I appreciate the info. Although I understand what is written in the rules already though. My question is why?
