    Who's pounding the 49ers today

I got a combine quarter pounder on the S.F. game and 1st half money line.

Defense win games, something the Packers doesn't have

It's a trip how the Packers almost have the same record as the Rams. NFC North, lol.

SF is pretty much just an average defensive team this year. Strong in the backfield, but soft in the front. Green bay, shockingly, is one of the best run blocking teams in the league this year, especially between the tackles. SF is great in stopping the outside run but has been hurt inside frequently, so Lacy should have some success. Aaron Rodgers is also one of the best QBs in the league in handling blitz packages, and the Niners are 29th in adjusted sack rate. All of this implies Rodgers could have a decent amount of time to work in the pocket today and the Packers will put up points.

Agreed, Lacy will get enough volume to have some success and Rodgers always gets his. But you've got to now do that same level write up for the 49ers.

Packers are kind of a terrible defensive team this year. bad in the secondary not much better in the front. And no Clay Mathews. Gore (and Hunter) should have some success. Kaepernick's best games have come against Green Bay and he's been one of the best in the league over his last few games and he has all his weapons back. etc...

For sure. I was pointing out that SF's defense is not the big strength that many think it is.

I don't disagree with most of what you say, however SF has been very poor in run blocking in power situations this year, taking negative plays because their OL gets pushed around. Gore is amazing and succeeds in spite of not getting a lot of help. GB's defense has gotten worse over the course of the year, largely because of three key losses: Casey Hayward, Johnny Jolly, and Clay Matthews. These losses have forced Capers into a more blitz-heavy style of play, which is a huge mistake against Kaepernick, as he is also among the best in picking up yardage against the blitz.

It's actually really tough to be sure of how SF will play this game on offense. In the last 2 years, they've played three games and every time the Niners showed a very different offensive strategy. Frank Gore won the first game almost single handedly, then Kaep's zone read cut them up in the playoffs, and then this year he sat back and had a monster passing day with Anquan Boldin. It's going to be interesting to see how GB decides to defend and how fast they're able to adjust when Harbaugh throws some wrinkles into the gameplan.

I do think that the team that blitzes the most today (probably GB) will be putting themselves at a big disadvantage from the start. It's going to come down to the respective defensive backfields winning in coverage on the elite receivers today. In terms of overall talent and momentum the Niners have the edge in this game, but that freezing cold Lambeau air is a big equalizer. No matter what SF says about being ready for it, they will not be as well prepared for the cold as the Packers.

Good stuff. 49ers O line definitelt not as good as last year. Although theyre actually coming to the playoffs in better shape than they did last year, overall. As usual, a lot will come down to QB play today. Rising Kaepernick, rusty Rodgers?

Unfortunately have to agree here. Aaron might throw 2 picks again, maybe even 3. San fran is a hot team playing in some cold weather but still, the pack d just isnt there this year.

Packers defense was not great but it helps when you have Rodgers who can put some drives together and score some points. Keeps the Packers suspect defense off the field.

Dude watch out, thats what I thought too, but look at Cincy. Kay Sf has better D, but imo Rodgers makes such an impact, cant fade that guy :S.

GB became more balanced since start of the season, SF lacks big time passing plays. But yea everyone knows these so ill shutup.
My book has a GB TDs over 2 for +110. gotta grab it!

Gonna hope Sf gets a lead early and would definitely hop on board with Pack at a sweeter price or more pts in live betting. Gl everyone
