Sometimes a ball bounces your way at the end of a football game on a fumble. Sometimes a fielder makes an error to cost his team the game.
An NBA player makes a 30 foot 3 ball with 5 seconds left when they are down 10 and +8 and cover to lose by 7. That's lucky.
Its always nice to catch a little luck.
But is a team who came back from a 4 td deficit to win a game considered to be "lucky"? Isn't it possible they were the better team and got off to the slow start? Or is the team who blew the lead the ones who are unlucky because they had the lead n lost it?
It's not always luck boys.
Sometimes your team has the heart and doesn't quit. Sometimes you dig yourself a hole as the better team and come back to get what was supposed to yours in the first place- a win. Was Tom Brady's comeback over the broncos this year lucky just because they got owned in the first half? Not even close. He dominated the 2nd half, not one guy on that team quit, they knew they could win the game still, and did.
Comebacks can be brutal when you're on the side that blows it, but it doesn't always mean you were "unlucky". You just had the best of it to start off a game, but a game is 60 minutes long.
I think people overuse the terms LUCKY and UNLUCKY in sports and in sports betting.
Sometimes you gotta just tip your cap and give the other side credit.
