Bob Stoops to Coach Cleveland Browns?

Would be perfect time to make the leap after Sugar Bowl stunner over Alabama.

that would be completely ego driven for him to go to the browns of all places

he'd get paid and be done in two or three years.....sure he could come back to college but who knows where he'd land and what situation he'd end up in

there arent many worse jobs in coaching than the browns job

Stoops is very happy at OU. With the team he has coming back in he has to be one of the pre-season favorites to win the Big 12 in '14. He is not going anywhere.

God himself could coach the Browns and they'd still struggle to win 5-6 games a year

it's only a couple games. stoops has done less with more his whole career. shitty conference and got lucky one time. before this game, worst bowl coach ever. now he beats a bama team who didn't even wanna be there and he's a genius. him and his brothers are the biggest clowns i have ever seen.

But that may be the perfect argument for leaving for the bigger money now.

You don't resign from a head coaching job at OK just after beating Alabama.

Stranger things have happened. He could work in pros. It's not like Browns have expectations of ever winning a big game.

Mike Zimmer should be the top candidate for any head coach opening.

Think this BS gets leaked if Bama had won? The guy tweets an opinion and people run with it. Social media has crippled accurate information posting.

Zimmer is a hot commodity right now, Vikings, Redskins, and Lions are all interested in him.

Stoops just built a mansion in Norman. He's not going anywhere unless they run him off.

Agree. Turner and Phillips come to mind. I'm willing to give a guy a pass if he bombs his first hc job though. After a couple of failures it is clear they didn't learn much from first go round.

    Stoops isn't leaving. Trust me.

He already makes enough money and could coach at OU another 15 years. He built a castle in Norman. He will retire here.

Why leave the job security for the Browns? They fire coaches yearly. I doubt he would make much more money there anyway.

Fisher and Saban have used other job openings to increase their salaries at home. Why not Stoops?

Sharp fkn post. Stoops isn't moving, he's negotiating. Can't blame him. He earned the right in New Orleans Thursday night.

Very true. I know Nebraska won't fire Bo Pelini because they are not confident to find someone better

Stoops has done this before as well.

He isn't taking the Browns job but he'll just stay quiet and act coy and OU will probably give him more money.

The game is real simple beat Nick Saban and then have your name floated around that you might be checking out NFL jobs. Ring, ring, ring Oklahoma calls you up and before you know it you get a nice raise.
