winning at rutgers was huge, they were a doormat and he built them into a top 10 team, he never belonged in the nfl.

the ncaa is gradually giving penn st everything back, it will be fully functional in a few years.

It probably will be Schiano and it will be great to see him fail. Of course there are other options though. Did anyone think obrien would be the guey this last time around? Of course not.

o brien used the job as a nfl stepping stone. no one else wanted the job he figured if he failed hed just go back to being an OC in the nfl anyways, and it worked out for everyone.

exactly why he never belonged in the nfl. you could say he ran away from rutgers when it started to get a little bit shaky their in terms of the big east falling apart, but thats the only real complaint you could really make IMO.

i could give two fuks about the roster...they had one flash in the pan stretch of good years mostly because ray rice was just a special player

schiano coached one team that ended the season ranked

    http://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/...schiano-1.html

what a great job of self promotion he's done over the years...the best was when he'd come out and turn down a job that he never got offered

Guy is definately an asshole. Couldn't get guys to play for him in the NFL. Maybe it will be different in college. Hard to really judge him because the sample size is so small and possibly skewed due to Rice et al. I think O'Brien is a much better fit. What HS kid would want to go play for Schiano after all the negative press he's gotten and after all the guy's they look up to have publically denounced him? Unlikely any 5 star players would want to put up with overly controlling and aggresive tendencies

    Easy to control college kids
Simple because you can take scholarships away and suspend them

Would be a HUGE mistake on Penn State's part...guy is a clown. There are much better candidate's out there such as Ed Orgeron that proved at USC that he can energize a program for sure. Penn State needs to get away from the Paterno lap dogs that for some reason want to come home...and Schiano is just another one along with Golden and Munchak.

orgeron has no ties at all to the area and was 10-25 at ole miss. he did good at usc as the interim but i dont think he would be the guy here.
