Stupid question from left field! Tomlin incident and a lawsuit

Just kinda curious with the way we are all sue happy in this country. With the NFL fining mike Tomlin for interfering with the game and possibly changing the outcome. Do you think a lawsuit would stand in court for someone to recoup gambling losses incurred from his actions? I have seen lawsuits for a lot less and stupider things. Just a curious thought. Not looking for the assholes to come out and tell me how stupid I am. This is just an idea of curiosity to see what others think!

Anyone that had the wager offshore as an American citizen would be out. They're committing an illegal act.

I guess people with a ticket from a Nevada sportsbook MIGHT have a case. However, I bet there are rules written by the state gaming board that state no judicial action can be taken. Something like "what happens on the field is final"

    Good question though!

I'm sure you can't sue the books but I am curious as to a group getting up and suing Tomlin himself. I am curious if that would be different, even in his actions changing the outcome of office pools and fantasy stuff which some of it is legal. There's just so many questions! My mind wanders off in these what ifs!

Gaming control board will tell you if you call. Technically you could sue for every penalty is this were the case and/or suspension.

Could sue city of San Fran when the lights went out during a game or the city of New Orleans in Super Bowl. Never ends if it were "legal" to sue in this situation.

No. Not even a little bit.

The idea of this lawsuit is the definition of frivolous.

I believe if that player was running down the field for Baltimore... tripped... and had a career ending injury... he would be able to sue Tomlin.

Depends. He could sue, sure, but I don't think it is a successful one.

He has to convince the judge that Tomlin's action was so outside the scope of the game, which is weak at best, but dumber shit has cashed.

That's like sticking someone up for money with a gun and then getting punched in the face for it by the guy you're robbing and you sue the guy for assault.

    Seriously?

I've seen stories of people suing and winning for even more pathetic things

Cannot believe it's come down to this where you can sue and win for almost anything....What a joke

You can file a lawsuit for practically anything, but it doesn't mean you have a winnable case.

I hate how you can sue and win if you get hammered at a friends house (or bar).....drive away drunk and crash and hurt yourself or others......Where is the self responsibility in that?

Slipping on ice in bad weather in a restaurant parking lot....You gotta be kidding me

Could name a bunch of others
