Kobe Bryant Clearly Isn't The Same Player Anymore

    Bench player... here we come.

Lakers lost how much money in a 2 year deal?

Retirement just... about 8 miles down the road.

Could be. Lakers were mind-blowingly stupid to give him that contract, unless it was only PR.

Kobe 8 Turnovers Tonight. When is the last time he did something like that? This reminds me of when AI was tanking and became a bench player. If Lakers wanted to do Kobe a favor... give him 48 million on the side... not against the cap... and sit him. Lakers a much better team without him.

They might be better without him.
Lakers off to a better start this year than last.
    Who would've thought;

Steve Blake / Jodie Meeks / Robert Sacre

    are greater than

Steve Nash / Kobe Bryant / Dwight Howard

Think I'll give him more than 1 game to judge where he's at.

I'm sure Kobe will get it going some at some point. But to what end? The Lakers are not going to be a threat to anything in the next couple seasons. They need to be retoolong. Next 2 years with Kobe is a waste of resources.

    for him or the lakers?

he gets his $50 mil - win for him

him on the lakers is the only way theyre relevant - win for them

    yep.

Lakers screwed up... but he screwed them... he played like he was going to come back and dominate. He is a joke, he will be a 12 PPG from here on out.. and a turnover machine.

3 more years of this is why Dwight Howard left.
not only that.. he will play like crap, and then have press conferences after the games like is is still great. no wonder the other are pissed and stop playing

when kobe was on the floor, all the starters were in the Minus,
when he was off the floor, all the bench guys were in the Plus

    young man's game
there was one guy on the lakers who was hot last night, xavier henry, who d'antoni immediately benched in favor of kobe in the end at clutch time. d'antoni should have benched jordan hill or somebody else, not henry.
you think these young guys don't resent that you are crazy
the young guys will now just defer to kobe at the end of games so he can shoot contested jumpers

also steve blake usually has double digit assists now, has improved a lot, and that will end with kobe's return

kobe was great, but he is old now

The whole team stops playing together.. it's just the Kobe show.. either he is taking a fancy shot.. or trying too hard for an impossible-looking assist*

    Kobe is OLD. hobbled.

couple that with not being a team-minded player and you have disaster.

    Nba for young people

Kobe brings millions to team so his contract is pennies to Lakers

That is why they signed him

that's not going to last JJ... the fans will turn on him..
that was Kobe's first game back, and the fans were already booing

what do you think is going to happen 10 games from now when they go 3-7, or 2-8 since Kobe's return?

before Kobe came back, they had won 6-8, and were finally rolling

What a bunch of fuggin losers who don't understand sports.. Basketball isn't one of those games you jus come back into after a year off and instantly start taking over. Its such a game of timing, give me a break Kobe is going to be MORE than fine.

lol... *if that is the case:

    1) then WHY the $48 Million extension...?
those are the kinds of Dollars you pay someone who comes back instantly and dominates.

    2) then*WHY*does your avatar read "COME BACK STRONGER" ?!?!*
shouldn't it read "come back slowly, and hope you recover fully"

Kobe is 35 years old. I'm 36 years old. I know how I felt being an athlete when I hit 34.... everything tends to slow down. Sh#$ I felt a slow down at 32. Your muscles don't build the same. Your mind to telling your muscles what to do ratio is all jacked up... you're a half a second slow in decision making. If Kobe does comeback... he'll be taking PED's. No one would ever test Kobe anyways. That's the only way he'll be back to normal for the next 2 years. I feel bad for the guy... I do. Had a remarkable career. If you guys want to call him the black mamba still... go ahead. I'm just going to call him the little black garter snake.

There comes a time in life when you need to look at yourself in the mirror and say to yourself... it's all over. Onto my second side of my life. And Kobe is there. Kobe should be playing 6th man. Laugh all you want. But it's his time now.

I think some of you guys are off, but ultimately, we'll have to see how the season pans out.

The speed of the game was too much for Kobe last night. Many of those passes that Kobe tried to make were absurd.
The Lakers, given their roster, have been playing as good, if not better, than they could have hoped for. There's a lot of young
and undeveloped talent on their squad and it's going to be tough for the young players to readjust their game with Kobe
on the floor. Kobe also looked way out of shape last night, which is to be expected. Maybe he came back too soon?

How hard is it for Laker fans to watch Paul Gasol?

your stupidity never ceases to amaze me.

how did jordan do in his first game back after his failed baseball career? 7-28fg in a loss.

how did d rose do in his first game back? 4-15fg 5 tos in a loss.

what was jordans excuse? he wasnt injured, just fat from too many hot dogs? rose took a full season off and played in a full slate of preseason games yet sucked. so what was his excuse?

yet you expect kobe to dominate after not playing a single game in 9 months recovering from an injury that ended many careers?

you must be an overweight couch potato who never played any sports if you believe that non-sense.

do u think the lakers could have secured a $5 billion tv deal if not for kobe? of course not dummy. so kobe could take the next 2 seasons off amd hed still deserve that money.

btw are u trying to set the record for the most threads u got whored in?

This goes back to last year...everytime Kobe is out of the line up Steve Blake plays well. He is running the point at a very high level this year...and quite frankly, I think their success depends on Blake's play as Kobe is not a PG...and will destroy the ball movement.....Somebody please get a video clip of Blake's post game comments last night...he was visibly upset with how things turned out....take a guess as to why...
