Going with the Longhorns in Mack Brown's swan song. Oregon was exposed towards the end of the season.

I also think the Under will be a good play here.

    $150 on Texas +14.5 -105
    $30 on ML +500

I still haven't put any $ on this one but it's got to be UT or nothing for me. This smells like when Lloyd Carr retired from Michigan. Players rose up and played their best game of the year.

I don't know who Oregon really is. With a month to prepare, UT can probably shut down that offense just like everyone else has been.

Oregon's offense has slowed down since earlier in the year. Texas can't really get into a shootout here.

Oregon was only "exposed" insofar as their QB and Heisman Trophy candidate got injured. If he is healthy, they can put up 50 easily on that sad sack Texas defense.

Texas + 14 1/2 is a good play, but the ML play is going to be very tough. Oregon players are that much better than Texas players. I would love to see UT win outright because the Oregon players are nothing more than pompous a**es. They did not want to go to the Rose Bowl, and now they are stuck with this game.

anybody seen any quotes from Oregon players?

If they are pumped up to play they win big.

it all comes down to if they care about this game

    I'm on both.

Hopefully I don't get burned on the +500 ML like I did when Oregon State choked the game away in the final minute.

A wager on Oregon here makes absolutely no sense. These kids don't want to be playing this game, they simply want this game to be over and get ready for party time.

Bowl games have a lot to do with emotions, let downs, etc. I don't see any way Oregon gets up for this game.

It's never been a question of talent for Texas, but rather, motivation. Now that they have a reason to play well, they have the talent to compete with -- and beat -- anyone.

I don't see why they can't at least cover the big number here.

Bullcrap. They do not have the talent to be a top-20 caliber team. They have an impressive win over Oklahoma, but they sure got their butts handed to them against BYU and Okie State. Then they got slapped by Baylor. What, were they not "motivated" to win that game with the conference championship and a trip to the BCS on the line?

Tru dat. I'm sure Oregon cares...maybe not as much incentive as Texas though. They still want to prove they're among the Top teams in the country.

And what facts do you have to support your claim?

I can tell you for a fact, that Oregon players have stated they don't want to play in the Rose Bowl, they want to play for the National Championship.

So, if Oregon wasn't motivated to play in the Rose Bowl, the second most prestigious Bowl game in the country, what the hell would lead you to believe they give a flying f*ck about the Valero Alamo Bowl?

I will be absolutely shocked if Oregon covers this game.

all interviews this week Oregon players stated they wanted to win this for defensive coordinator Nick Aliotti who is retiring after game. I suspect they will motivated

Just a note - Oregon recruits the living shit out of Texas. Going back to your home state is always good motivation.

I don't care what they said in their interviews this week, they said the "right" thing, or what they "should" say, not how they truly feel.

These are human emotions we're talking about. Oregon has stated publicly it's either NC, or huge fail, and they had no interest in playing in the Rose Bowl, never mind this pointless filler bowl game.

You're simply speaking as a homer, not as an investor, and that's fine. Oregon is simply going through the motions and want this season to be over. They can't come out and say, "we don't care about this game" they simply gave professional answers, not honest ones.

Dude this could be called the turd bowl for all I care, Im sure these coaches will make sure their players have some motivation going into game whether it be playing for the seniors , defensive coordinator, or playing a big school like Texas, they have plenty of reasons to show up and play hard dude, I would love to hear your prediction your talking like these fn kids are going to lose 40-3 or some shit.

Oregon is a scary team, I can't see them not showing up but who knows.

Could easily see them up 21-0 in the 1st quarter *scratch that 22-0* they like to go for 2 on a early TD.

Just like they did when they were 23 point favourites, at home, to an in state rival?

They didn't dominate in that game, and I'd say there was more to play for in that game. In fact, Oregon State dominated Oregon for 50+ minutes.
