Brady/Pats don't need the refs to beat Manning.

Yeah because if you fade the public every game you win in gambling

Pats should win because they are the more complete team, because manning will freeze his balls off, and because manning doesn't win against brady in foxborough

no not true. That is not what i am saying.

The refs are the only party involved in trying to fix games.

Its ALWAYS the public side that gets screwed on a controversial call or no call.

Show me one example where the refs pretty much gave the game to the public side.

MNF with the Pats getting screwed was very similar to Green Bay/Seattle last season.

This mostly comes into play in nationally telivised games.

And obviously there is only so much a ref can do without making it too obvious they want a certain
    side to cover...

For example earlier this season the Panthers had 90% of money bet on them on the road @ Tampa Bay
and the Panthers totally dominated and won big.

There is nothing a ref can do to help a team that is getting their doors blown off

however in close games that are on prime time tv if a ref has the opportunity to help the team that has
less money bet on it they will do what they can without making it " too obvious"

now it just so happened that this MNF game with the no pass interference was painfully obvious.

There is not a doubt in my mind the ball headed ref that came in and told the other ref to pick up the flag
and walk away was "in on it"

Just be very very very careful betting on the public side in a game on national tv unless you think
its going to be a blowout.

How exactly do the refs or the league benefit by screwing like the 5% of fans who have actual money riding on the game?

I guess the refs made Vereen miss a perfect pass like two plays prior that would've given them a full series of down to throw at the end zone from around the 25.

That's what I'm saying and I briefly spoke about it in another thread. I don't like the number; books are giving NE way too much credit in this spot.

It's not the league or the refs. It's the owners of the teams whose families have long-time connections with the mob and the gambling industry.

I know it sounds crazy, but you can start here.

ask your self this question guys,

i know some of yall have high morals and all but...

If you are an NFL ref and someone you know offers you
$500,000 cash to do what you can to make sure a certain team covers a spread..

    would you take the money?

And it still doesn't make sense. The Kennedys made their money from bootlegging - you think they're still doing it today?

These owners are fabulously wealthy, get cities and taxpayers to fund their stadiums, make money hand of fist even with the crappiest of teams to the tune of like 100 million a season ... but they're risking all that to get caught rigging games? For what purpose?

And if it's "not the league or the refs" then who is doing it for him?

Gee, then what did they offer the other refs to agree and the NFL as an organization to say it was right call?

Keeping in mind the NFL routinely admits when calls were made incorrectly after games.

Bear you make 0 sense. If the ref was bribed, he wouldn't have let Brady get a chance for the W from the 25 yard line. He wouldn't have allowed it to stay that close. What if Newton never scored on that drive. What was the ref gonna do? What would he have done if Gronk caught that? Thrown a flag for offensive pass interference or holding?

This is not a massive thing. It's not organized. It's rouge.

Players to Refs, impossible to keep from happening.

Imma lite bettor on nfl becaise this is the game that vegas makes its real money. And mob makes its money. I do watch the games though. Been primarily winning on the carolina under this season. Although i got lucky several times there. My under on mnf was in great jeopardy until that highly suspicius no call occurred. That ref was blind as a bat. Dumb as a rock.or paid off. BY mob. Latter being the most likely
