Durant Chris Paul and K Love all have a chance.

Paul George has no shot to win MVP.

I bet Chris Paul pre season. The odds were insane.

All you Lebron homers seem to forget the award is not the "World's Best Player" it is the "Most Valuable Player" I.e the player that is so important to their individual team and CP3 is easily as important to the Clippers as Lebron is to the Heat.

There is a concept called "voter fatigue" that may indeed be relevant this season, and would hence work against Lebron.

Lebron has publicly stated that he wants the DPOY this season and he basically had a cry when Gasol won it last year.

Lebron is very good at getting what he wants, however it is extremely unlikely he will win MVP and DPOY in the same season.

Many times these trophies are award retrospectively, especially DPOY and also to a lesser extent MVP, so there is a very good chance that CP3 or possibly Parker wins MVP this season and far less of a chance that George or Love will - it's like you have to put in the work first and then will be awarded the trophy in hindsight.

Personally I think Lebron has a very very good chance to win DPOY this season as he has the media in the palm of his hands these days (recovered remarkable well from "the decision" fiasco). I don't think he will win MVP. Personally I like KD (although still so so early in the season) with CP3 and Parker being genuine chances as well and Love a nice smoky.

I agree with this assessment...timing is everything with these awards...more often than not, the player who deserves it will not get it...the league most solidify Durant and Paul's commercial exposure with an MVP...Love should get it if he continues to play well...but will not because its his first time in the conversation...same with George....Hibbert is clearly in the running for DPOY...Noah was robbed of it last year and he played as well as Hibbert is playing now.....however..so upsets may be in order....

No it is not.....Most Valuable Player means just that..who is most valuable...but alas..this is David Stern's NBA...and most valuble really means...most marketable and most popular....in some years there are exceptions....Jordan/Lebron/Bird...were indeed invaluable to their teams....but Nash's second MVP was nonsense.....

yeah, there hasn't been a white dude from a small market that has won an MVP in recent years.

    of course i do

im not a lebron fan but to im honest enough to admit that he makes virtually any team he's on better than any other team in the league

there are no other real all stars on the heat at this point and theyre still favorites to win the title

cp3 makes his team a playoff team/conference final contender and lebron makes his team champions

i will say to have an mvp discussion after 10 games is completely absurd

as for the other guey talking about bird/jordan/lebron, karl malone was the biggest farce in recent history when he got it over mj and he certainly wasnt more marketable

yeah, I know what year you are talking about. I couldn't agree with you more. CP3 should have gotten the MVP that year.
I think they were making up for not giving Kobe the MVP the year before when he deserved it, but they gave it to Nash.

No one in the NBA has the ball in his hands more than CP3. It remains to be seen who will emerge as true MVP candidates, but you have to admit that CP3 deserves serious consideration if the Clippers have an extremely successful season.

If the season plays out exactly how it's already played out 7 times over, LeBron will be MVP again. Anyone who disagrees doesn't know what the hell they're talking about.

James is obviously the favorite every year but it is not definitive. Paul's numbers will be historic at the end of the year. Durant could explode. Kevin Love could easily get it. If Bryant comes back and dominates and gets the Lakers into a top 4 seed he will get it. Bryant was 1st in the league in scoring for majority of year last year. Most think he's done.

D Wade was better than Lebron in 2005 and 2006. Mcgrady and Bryant were the two best players in the world for a 3 year span. No one could ever score as easy as Mcgrady imo in the history of the nba in his prime. He never trained hard enough to stay on top of the world though. That's what separated Bryant from him.

yes, but on 100 shots a game.. which ends up hurting team
    it's about player efficiency.

that is why Kobe has only won a single MVP in what is almost a 20 yr. career..

there are a lot of guys that won the award once.

Kobe is was never qualified to ever win more than one. he is not a 'team-minded' individual.

he could never win it again, that is laughable

let me explain it to you this way, if you made a million dollars last year,
and you spent $950K doing so, you are not a millionaire.

Kobe's profit margin is low, because he consumes so many possessions generating his points.

    Lebron is shooting .622 FG% .517 3-PT%

kobe has never shot over .469 FG% for a season
and his career avg. from 3-pt Range is .336%

    Jody Meeks numbers are better.
which by thr way, he is finished.

Kobe will not permit anyone to put up much better shooting numbers than him.

    no more touches/shots for Meeks*

Tony Parker and Dwayne Wade shoot a better FG percentage than Bryant every year. Are they better than Bryant? LOL.

James is 6'10 270 pounds idiot. He's the same size as some NBA centers.

He should be shooting no less than 55% every season based on his size. 270 pounds. LOL. Name me 5 PFs that weigh 270. You're a fool. I don't like you Rat. Go crawl back to your sewer.
